Oooh boy. The stories I could tell you guys. Sit down 'round the fire kids, it's time for grampa to tell you a story.
Back when I was just starting out with Uzuki, LOOOONG before I even had plans of working on Time Gate or anything else for that matter, I mostly drew it for my own website (uzukicomics.com; don't bother going to it, it's down now 'cause I just didn't want to pay for it anymore lol). It didn't get a lot of traffic, and I didn't really find a lot of "success" with Uzuki until I started releasing it on Tapastic.
But during this time, I ran into some pretty nasty people. I'm not talking Internet trolls, I'm talking people who knew me through my boyfriend and wanted to make shit personal. A lot of them were people he went to school with when he started university, and let's just say, it's not a memory I enjoy bringing up, but I will anyway for the sake of this thread lol
A lot of these people (mostly girls, some who I can assume were just trying to get me out of the picture so they could get into his pants le sigh) felt it was necessary to follow every update of Uzuki on the website and harass me through the comments. Thankfully they were moderated so they weren't visible on the site until I approved them, but I still had to put up with seeing them in my dashboard every time I updated, and it really got to be a pain in the ass. And as I said before, not internet-trolling comments like "hur dur your comic sucks lolz", but real below-the-belt comments like "why do you even bother making this, you're such a failure, kill yourself" and all that BS.
Daulton ended up leaving the school after his first semester and he cut off all communication with the people who were harassing me and just being toxic for the both of us, but I can't help but wonder what the real motivations were. I couldn't tell if they were just trying to make a (at the time) high school girl feel like shit just for being younger, or if they were jealous for some reason, or, as pointed out already, they wanted to get into my boyfriend's pants, but it caused a lot of problems.
One good story though from this whole turn of events, there was one girl who I knew right away who it was, and she had commented on my website, so I IP-tracked her and unlike it coming from the university as it usually did, it came from my hometown, as I suspected, and I was like, "Having a fun time in insert town name here are we? See you at school on Monday."
They never commented again xD
