Just curious, what are people's thoughts? Is it smart, tacky, or totally unimportant?
Good way to to have quick access to your comic on mobile?A cheap way to get a free subscriber?A totally fair way to be your own fan?
Well, it seems to not make a difference when you sub to your own work. It does help you keep track of it on mobile though. Also, it is totally cool to be your own fan, you created it, so enjoy it if you want.
I don't follow myself on tapas as there is a section on the app that lets you visit your own profile and comic/novel quite easily.
I did subscribe to my own webtoon though because i otherwise get a bit lost easily and i don't want to type in the name in the search bar over and over again.
Tacky, but I don't really care, and don't judge people who do it.
ppl mostly use it to make sure their comic page actually notifies readers when it updates, must happen often if thats the excuse i hear
Think it is totally ok. I follow my comic and I like every single page on every platform we post at. If you yourself don't show appreciation to your work, why would others?
Eh, subscribing to your own content does no problem nor harm, you just can and that is all there is.
I don't follow myself, because if I do, I will create a paradox loop that destroys space and time (maybe)
Same. Webtoon has such a chaotic search system that that I had to follow mine to even find it
It's unimportant but I still do it because I can.
Wait, you can do that? And, I'd say it's kind of like liking your own content, it's kind of inconsequential overall.
I follow my comics to make sure updates actually happen when they are supposed to. One single added subscriber doesn't really change anything.
I do it cause it's the only way to see how your stuff looks on mobile and get the updates to see what everyone else sees.
I don't. I'm always up when my episodes release anyway so I manually check them to make sure I didn't mess up the queue times or something.
I follow my stuff, because it's easier to find it on mobile. I don't really think it's tacky. Liking your own pages on the other hand might be a little too much. xD
I've never thought to? Not on the public numbers and shit. But I get annoyed if just going in to check an episode adds to the "view" count on it - I want to know if people besides myself are looking and liking my stuff. I wouldn't say I'm against it, I just have different motives.
I 100% recommend, scheduling sometimes just forgets to happen and I can simultaneously post on other social media as soon as that library notification pops up for me, instead of refreshing and hoping I'm actually reading "released 1min ago" and not "releases in 1h".
Shoot I subscribe and like my own stuff. I don't care if it is tacky.
Pretty much for all these reasons, I follow my own comic. Especially on webtoon, because otherwise its a pain to find it on mobile.
I followed my novel, Fox Trap, just to check the updates schedule and what not but other than that I don't. I feel weird about it
