Any particular reason why you're asking female readers? I mean, tastes would vary even among male readers.

Also, are we talking about female characters or male characters?

I'm a guy, so I figured by asking female readers what kind of marvel-esque style they liked I could get a better insight. But I guess everyone has their taste.

Oh no, no need to apologize; I was just genuinely curious if you needed answers from female readers for some specific reason. XD I didn't mean to sound aggressive.

I'm not really into Marvel aesthetics, so not sure how helpful my answer would be. In general, I'm not a fan of a lot of typical superhero costume aspects, such as capes, spandex, "white eye" masks, briefs worn on the outside... But there's an exception to each one of those? For example, Batman has ALL FOUR of those, but I like his design.

Ahaha, well like Keii, I hate traditional superhero spandex. To me, it looks quite... silly.

I do really like superheros in cool street clothes or western dusters like Gambit. : > You just can't go wrong with a big badass coat.

I like suits that are functional more then anything else. For example I can't stand when lady armour has boob-holders and an indent on the sternum (ex Wonder Woman), if the chest was hit by a sword the boobs would direct the blow right to the sternum without really slowing the strike down, that could lead to a one hit kill! Not functional just to be "sexy" is problematic and I'm not a fan. But that's not to say I don't like sexy in general (for either gender) as long as its functional.
I really like the newer Batgirl's design>>

It has a lot of details that (to me) make sense for her type of fighting/character. (Though I do hate the loose hair, it makes little sense for fighting and keeping your ID under wraps)
I also like Spider-Gwens design, its simple but stands out form ALL the other Spider-Man/Lady characters.
I think a good costume (for any gender) is simplistic but has one or two details that standout and are unique, when a costume is too busy its sort of jarring to look at. And you really want a costume design you can draw over and over, in a somewhat fast manner, so going too detailed might really handicap you.

( I also dislike characters that fight in high heels, but I don't count it as nonfunctional because I know ladies IRL that can sprint and kick ass in pumps ^^; )

I definitely like useful looking costumes for both guy and girl heroes, and I particularly like when they blend typical superhero designs with modern fashion. Tbh my favorite thing is seeing the heroes out of costume. Not a fan of spandex or true primary colors on heroes.

I 100% second the Batgirl costume appreciation. I tend to like realistic/practical costumes. A few costumes that popped into my mind as like stand out would be Hit-Girl and Damian Wayne's Robing costume. Both are unique but have a lot of coverage for both safety and to hide their identities.

From Marvel, well I love I love Iron Man, who doesn't?? But I suppose that is more mecha stuff. I also liked the Batman's costume from the Dark Knight movies series and also the Thor one, male and female version.

But I also enjoy watching superheroes in spandex, I mean all those muscles are so ...educational lol.

i second the spider gwen appreciation, im in love with it. also, agent of asgard loki's costume is such a #look. that batgirl costume is also really great.

so I like anything that's practical, but also stylish. i think style is important because who doesn't like characters who look hella cool? but i don't think it should outweigh practicality.

I have only dipped my toes into cape-comics a little bit - I didn't grow up reading them, and it's too much work getting into all of it - so my sample-size is pretty small.

But of those, I am especially fond of Kamala Khan's Ms Marvel outfit (it looks comfortable, cute and distinctive!), and of Doctor Strange. I like the whole Sorcerer Supreme-who-might-also-kind-of-be-a-space-pirate thing he's got going on. XD

I'll have to agree with @WakaXO, I really like that Batgil look! And also as @AnnaLandin suggested, Kamala Kahn's Ms Marvel is really nice!

I'll add Squirrel Girl to the mix too, love the sillyfun look <3

the respectful and practical ones, of course. kamala's costume comes to mind, or spider-woman's latest one - functional, nice to look at, no hideous boob pockets. Really, it's like every female character in them comics has their clothes suction wrapped onto them.

most superheros have combat-heavy lives, so i like superheros who combat-style costumes. you know, like, military looking? i hate when the female characters are in catsuits for the same organisation (like shield) where the men are dressed like run of the mill military folk.

just like, design a costume for a male version of your character, then put it on your female character, and i prolly wont complain.

aesthetically, though, silk and spider-gwen are my favourites.

Can I third this? And drawing women so they don't look like they have broken backs haha... I think I love Batgirl's new costume that was mentioned above. It's prob my favorite in the super hero world at the moment.

I'm a dude, but seriously this is one of my biggest peeves. If you want to give your character armored plate with the boobs sculpted, please remember this poem:

Armored boobs will really hurt em'
'Cause armored boobs will break your sternum.

Also I really love the Batgirl costume, especially the Doc Martins. Although I admit, the utility belt going over the jacket has my eye twitching a bit. Spider Gwen is awesome too.

In my opinion, any super suit is better when it is made specifically illustrate the characters traits, strengths or weaknesses. (ex. flashes heat resistant suit, daredevils mask has blacked out eyes.)
