I've spent the last few weeks making considerable revisions to a thumbnail rough draft of the next chapter of my ongoing comic. After rearranging, cutting, and adding about 15 extra pages, I'm ready and raring to get started drawing. I haven't done anything more complicated than a thumbnail drawing in the last few weeks, though, so I need to do some sketching to get limbered up.
Making pencil drawings of other people's characters has always served me well at times like this. That's where you come in!
Some quick (updated!) guidelines:
- Please only request a character from an active comic that has at least 5 pages up. I'd rather not draw a character who's likely to be abandoned next week.
- You are welcome to repost these on social media if you want. Please credit me and include a link to my Tapas page or to onetrickponycomics.com.
- I'd prefer to avoid characters that are extremely simple (circle heads and dot eyes). That said, I might simplify an extremely complicated design.
- I can't draw mecha for crap, so let's not go there.
- I would love to make something for someone who has a comic with more than 20 pages and fewer than 20 subscribers.
- Feel free to include 1-2 sentences about your character's personality or habits.
- Large amounts of creative license might be taken.
