Personally, I'd recommend and online backup service. If you're not too squeamish around menus, Backblaze is more of the more affordable options and the one I use. ($60/per year)
If you're prone to forgetting to make manual backups like I am something like that is probably a good idea.
I treat it like insurance. Yeah its $60 a year but then I have totally confidence I won't lose more than a few minutes of data even if my computer catches on fire.
