Fun little coincidences about your story

So here's something I was thinking of a bit recently: Fun little things that you had no initial plan to set out and do in your story, but things just so happened to line in that way anyways. Like some fun little world building detail or connecting fact about your characters or something like that.

Like for example, I recently noticed that each of the six main characters in DRAGOONS each had either a first or last name that related to the sky or weather in some way.

Flare (Solar Flare.)
Fubuki Fuma (Snowstorm and Wind Demon in Japanese.)
Bryce Brontosaurus (Thunder Lizard)
Auster (Roman name for the South Wind)
Zephyr (The West Wind)
Selena Stormbringer (Selena was a moon goddess in mythology and the last name should be obvious)

That was completely unintentional on my end, but I found it a fun little connecting detail between them anyways.

So just fun little coincidences in your stories like what I bowed above if you get that.

Accidentally made a ship happen.

The endgame couple in my story was a complete and utter coincidence that I didn't realize was happening until it was too late. The canon couple was actually supposed to be a totally different pair of characters, but my plotting just kind of threw everything on it head.

I ended up liking this pairing a lot more than the old one, though, so it worked out in the end?

More than a coincidence, i ended up turning my secondary characters into the main ones and viceversa

I wouldn't call it coincidence, I call that instinct (and my readers seem to believe I know what I'm doing as well ).
I once mentioned a person in my main series that I honestly didn't know who they were but something told me that mentioning them was important at that time and that they'd play a big role later on in the series. I thought about it for a while but couldn't figure out what all of that was about so I just did what my gut told me.
Well, I'm almost 400 chapters further into the series and what can I say: It turned out I was right. I actually figured out the person's identity and why they are there and it turned into the current main mystery that people are starting to work on solving

I have a LOT of those most of them are a bit spoilery though for the chapters woth those accidental connections haven't come out yet and wont for a while.

One that is already posted is the colors i picked for the father and son. So the son wears a grey button up dress shirt, and brown suspender pants. I accidently made the dad wear a grey polo and a brown backpack, which often times looks like suspenders at certain angels xD the look alot alike too but there arent in the same scenes so it is not an issue

Ha i had a very similar thing with a different story of mine. I felt like a street vendor had more significance than i orginally intended and she ends up coming up again as part of the supporting cast as someones runaway daughter

I have name ones a lot too. One character i couldnt figure out a last name for so i randomize on in sims. Galloway came up and i was just like that works. I didnt search up a meaning until like a couple weeks later and it is actually a type of cow, which totally works out cuz he and his family raised cattle for years.

I do a small amount of historical research to go along with my story. A fun coincidence was that I named my fictional Louisiana town in my comic Witchwood, and it’s located near the actual city of New Orleans. When I was doing research I found that there was an actual plantation near New Orleans named Wytchwood. So I changed the spelling of my fictional town since I thought it looked cooler.

Gosh I have no idea if I have coincidences... I've tried very hard to limit things that would surprise me (the author). I suppose the #1 is "holy chocolate on a cracker why is this still going after the conflict was resolved?!" and "how did this happen!?"
I also have tried very hard in NTN to keep the cast size relatively small, or to create everyone in pairs. For a long time, Alexander didn't have a pair partner (three years ish I think), and his partner didn't even appear in story until this year. I also make the pairs as foils for each other, but not all pairs are set (ie Will and his father could foil each other, but so could Will and Crow, or Crow and his father, or Crow and Phyte).
I .... suppose.... the real "coincidence" besides the "omg why not done!?" thing is that I adjusted the main trouble maker from being a female to a male. I wrote almost 9 chapters with it being a female and at some point thought about how lots of fairy tales make out the fairies, or the woman, or the mother, to the daughter, to be both the one in trouble and the one causing the problems, and I didn't want to fall into that. Oddly enough, I think I've ended up with that still as a thing though considering how "kind" Will's step-mom is, and the actions of his mother during her life and how Will behaves currently because of them. Neither woman/mother is specifically an evil force or the in your face evil, but neither is guiltless either.

I've got a really good one!

So in my comic, I have two characters based on my Western and Eastern Zodiac signs - Sagittarius, of course, and Redburn, the rooster (or something?) with fire powers. Redburn wasn't introduced into the story until the second story arc. It just so happened that Chinese New Year coincided with his introduction in the comic... the Chinese New Year that celebrated the year of the Fire Rooster! This was a 100% coincidence but it was pretty awesome.

My coincidences happened between my two comics. For example, I didn't really intend to make two stories that involve aliens, didn't intend to start them at the same time.

Also in my True Power: MS2 series, I definitely did not intend to be able to crossover my main series, Celestial Chronicle Shion, with it. It was created long before I had any idea for CCS. After starting the two comics, I realized I could easily cross them over and make CCS a popular anime in their world and they could cosplay the characters:

Probably more then a few but there is one that sticks out in my mind.

One of the distinguishing traits of my main character is a pair of cephalopod-like eyes that she didn't initially have before transforming. The very first page of the comic briefly focuses on an octopus (who obviously has eyes like this) before switching to the MC's pre-transformation eyes.

This was excellent foreshadowing.......... which makes me really wish I could claim that I did it intentionally.

Same with one of my novels! I realised I liked the secondary character better and I just felt it was the right thing for my main character

High five! Sometimes it turns out that a different character would be a better match, and who are we to deny them?

Hasn't happened quite yet in my story, but the kid's in my story steal a gray Saturn during their adventure and it turned out, coincidentally, that when I was studying alchemy stuff for my story, that the planet Saturn stands for the element of lead, which is also a gray color--and that element in alchemy also is a metaphor for "human" (which is why alchemists were always into turning lead into gold). And since the kids in my story have a bunch of flaws, it is a nice little metaphor that I can expand on by just...slowly changing the color of their car until it's gold.

Which is when I remembered that I happened to have written about a whole tub of copper-plated aluminum paint that looks very golden that I used as a joke in like chapter 4. So now that I have the setup, I just have to finish this story before Saturns aren't on the road anymore.

I just remembered another coincidence:

Falls perfectly, but all my characters transformations kinda come from their childhood's traumas and experiences, in a symbolic way and i didn't even plot that

Oh my goodness, so this is not my story nor is it a story published on Tapas, but Sarah J. Mass's Throne of Glass series is full of "Coincidences"

In the prequel, the main character saves a girl from a group of guys. She then give the girl money to go across the sea to this awesome healer school.
Later on, that same girl comes back. She ends up saving the main character's friend with the healing knowledge she learned at that school!

There are other things too. The main character (under an alias) shows kindness to a girl who is basically her enemy (frenemy) then ends up giving an important artifact to a girl (now known as girl 3) girl 3 is looking for the main character. the frenemy sends her to give the artifact to the main character's alias (they don't realize it is the same person)!

There is a bunch of stuff like that all in the books!! It is great!
