My brother burnt water before. I'm serious, he was going to make some Mac and Cheese and he left the water on to boil for to long and the inside of the pan turned blackish even though there was still water in it.

They can just do what my family does to me, insult their intelligence by praising their talents. For example,

You do something stupid because you're lacking brains, and they sigh, "I'm glad you can draw." Because you can't do anything else right.

You just substitute the talent to fit the situation. Things such as, "At least you have your looks"
