I submitted my comic a horror/sci-fi/comedy. Now I know its defiantly Sci-fi because of the experiments and some of the later components that come in later. But I'm starting to question the horror/comedy part.

It was recently suggested to me that it's not horror or comedy, it's just Dark Humor. And lie when I started someone told me it's not funny/ comedy.

If anyone reads it please let me know if I have mislabeled it. I would like to have it in the correct category.

I did update it today, here's a picture of my favorite panel lol i worked so hard on this scene/background.

here's a sneak peek at the next new character:

oh and here's a link to my comic.

Looks very promising. What line do you draw when it comes to dark humor?

I have no idea. I thought it was just comedy with some horror elements. I never really put that much thought into it. The main villain is narcissistic and doesn't value anyone one around him which can come off as dark humor? Im not purposely shooting for anything.

Oh. well then that dude had no idea what he was talking about. Me personally, I enjoy a little dark humor, but only a small dose of it.

"Dark Humor" isn't really a Tapas genre option, so if someone asked me "My comic is dark humor, what genre should it be?" I'd still tell them to put it in comedy? 'cause that's just a type of comedy, right?

Follow up question, do you feel your comic is just comically dark, or does it have elements of horror outside of the humor? I think your answer to that should be telling of the accuracy of the sub genre. =)

I wanted to add, in case you don't know (because I don't think it's clear the way Tapas presents the genres), but only your "main" category actually has any functionality. The sub-genres are just aesthetic information. It's still good to make sure you're labeling with the correct genres, I just want to make sure it's clear that in terms of search and categorization, only one will really have an affect.

I too had a similar problem in the beginning, but only for the third genre: Originally, since it was about the lives of the Character after the prologue during the various festivities, I thought It was a "Slice of Life", but since it mostly revolves on various themes such as Bonds, conflicts, traumas and stuff, and less on describing a "Typical day", I've decided to put it under "Drama", and I'm not regretting it... and I'm still totally sure about the Fantasy/Sci-fi part, as, in the end, It's a Fantasy setting, born from Sci-fi root (In a Meta sense as well, for Lore reasons described in the Lore books).

GENRE: Fantasy, Sci-fi Drama
There are so many people in the World of Gaia, each one of them has a story to tell, of events that changed their life drastically, both for the better and for the worst...
