Genuinely promote your comic! (Not just Sub4Sub)

If you're anything like me, you use this forum a lot to browse new comics to read. And if you're anything like me, you're sick of nonstop spamming. Trust me, I get the hustle, I did advertising, but seeing the exact same copy paste in every thread just makes me not want to read the comic. And that's frustrating, because some of them are really fun!

I know nobody is here JUST for subs and likes, they want people to appreciate their work, and that's the point of this thread! I did this kinda thing a few weeks ago and people really liked it. So just talk about your comic, what you feel makes it so special and some other fun stuff readers might find fun!

My comic is a superhero one called DROSERA OVERGROWN. It's a superhero comic, with a main team of heroes who's powers I specifically chose to make as little practical sense as possible. I won't say who yet, but one of their powers is to sweat molten glass. It's inspired a lot by action series with long overarching narratives, think stories along the lines of Chainsaw Man or My Hero. In fact, Bakugou inspired the glass sweat idea! In terms of story and visual flair, I was inspired by the clean, sanitized look of the 50s and 60s, except in a grimy, post-apocalyptic setting. It took years of messing and experimenting with visual designs to truly feel old school, and I'm super happy with the results. If this at all sounds interesting, give it a look! I promise you it's a more than worthwhile story to get invested in, not to mention I just uploaded a brand new episode yesterday! Thank you guys so much, I'll be sure to check all of your work too

I like this thread! It seems really genuine, and I love checking out new work to subscribe to ^_^

I’ll promo my novel here, too, and hopefully it’ll interest a few people. I’ve always wanted to write something with a whole cast of characters that are intertwined in some way, and in the end it all kind of comes together. I’ve tried to achieve that with my novel—The Heart Dove, where everyone has a past. I’m really proud of my characters and what their stories are. It’s a tragic one, but it means a lot to me.

If you are interested in mythology and Gods (I’m really proud of the lore with my God characters!) And a human who just fucking hates the situation he’s been put in and how he gets out (along with a ghost who’s really, really interested in him) then The Heart Dove is for you!

I'm gonna promote my comic here bc I'm tired of sub4sub. I'm making a rom-com about angels and demons called My Matchmaker From Hell. This comic is littered with plenty of chaos with a little roasting.

Here's 'Come what May' (or 'Venga lo que Venga' in Spanish).

The first Webcomic I've ever done. The art and writing improves with every chapter.
Set in my country Argentina (more notable in the spanish version because the characters use argentinian dialect).
And a story that was supposed to be pretty simple, but now that I finished 12 chapters it turned out to be more ambitious than I expected or even noticed while writing it.

Synopsis: Emilio Molina, an average middle-class carrier, obtains supernatural powers after an assault during his job. He will use this mysterious power to assist Ulises Serrano in his revenge against Humberto Barrazcosa, the owner of the most prestigious brand of wine in the country

I'm already subscribed to your comic!

My comic is a bit different to any others I have seen on here. It's about a young cowfish learning about endangered sea species and plastic/sea pollution. It's informal with a storyline but also has aspects of comedy. Although it is really sad and is a real issue in the world today, I wanted it to be relatable, funny and to raise awareness to help sea creatures as well as us humans, land animals and the environment too as plastic pollution doesn't just affect sea animals, it affects everyone/everything.

I'm still fairly new to web comics and getting word out there as I came from a Video Game bg and this project started as a videogame idea, with a love for storytelling, character design and storyboarding, decided to create a comic with it.

The initial idea spawned from having the common flu years ago and wondering: what if you had to keep distance because anyone you infect became zombies? What if you got cool powers instead of headaches and fever? The usual running to bathroom to spit out plegm inspired Evan's saliva based powers.

Sweat molten glass sounds cool!
Also enjoy wacky powers and grittier superhero themes so that and a combination of fave games like Dead Space, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, MGS and Tekken and also my enjoyment for zombies and horror films like Evil Dead and The Thing, dark comedies like Shaun Of The Dead & Zombieland too
Never saw Chainsaw Man and My Hero but can see the action side of sick boy also in similar vibe.

We follow the lives brothers Evan and Owen Moriarty who hear an eerie hum one night and develop unusual symptoms. Evan can make solid matter from his saliva while Owen can transform into gas state, both brothers discover new uses based on these bodily changes. However the brothers appear to have also become carriers of something horrid, as anyone they come into contact with will instantly mutate into monsters. The brothers are a double edge sword, a threat to humanity yet their powers give them a fighting chance against the infected hordes.
The bros unwillingly start an outbreak and hopes to reunite with family seem unlikely, the further they go. They encounter 'others like themselves' dubbed Sick Boys by authorities, but not all have genuine motives. There are those who prefer to spin the situation into a grisly game!

As far as gneres, there's a mish mash of many, via the rules of the virus and superpowers displayed. Some scenes may feel like a RPG Fantasy with Evan wielding his spit as a giant sword against a Kaiju sized infected, while other times clashes with other Sick Boys (superhuman class) feels very Shonen-like. Undertaking superhero style rescue missions require the brothers to find ways without making direct contact. Owen's (the younger brother) ability to distant view is inspired by FPS games and Found Footage horror.

Brotherhood and responsibility are core themes and the brothers are a Straight and Gay duo, inspired by fun memories from childhood and growing into adulthood.

I really appreciate that man. Even the worst webtoons I see, there's very clearly a lot of love and intent behind them. It's honestly very difficult to make it in any form online, whether it's Youtube or Webtoons or anything else. It's important to remember we're all just fellas trying to make fun stories to share with people, and that's what I try to help promote.

Getting real interest in the stuff you work so hard on and having people who will appreciate the work you put in too. Sub4subs really don’t seem to help and bring the audience your really looking for so I’m glad for you doing this to hopefully even if it just that one person who will see and enjoy the work we all do

Once upon a time, back in ye olde 2010's, there was an MMORPG called Spiral Knights. As a kid, I loved it so much, I started coming up with ideas for what the story was since, as far as I could tell, there wasn't one! It got one eventually, but it was shallow and never finished, and to this day (over a decade later!) I've been coming up with a compelling story on my own.

It's a long, LONG story I plan to tell over multiple books. I wrote a short intro a few years ago, but to get to one of my favorite parts from the planning stage, I've now jumped straight into what would be book 3. Mixing in bits of the real game's own missions with my in depth, maybe too expansive story telling, I've spent the last 2 and a half months publishing weekly chapters. With 25 subs and nearly 1k views so far, I've never been more motivated to write or eager to share my story, Spiral Knights: Project R

It's been a while since I was on this forum. In between I started a new comic Amy The Nightmare Hunter. It is a fun, cute, adventure, fantasy comic about two friends Amy and Kit (or at least they will become friends). It's in more cartoon art style.

If that's something any of you are interested in, check it out. I will scroll through this thread and check out other comics. As I said it's been a while, so have not seen most of the other ones.
