GL webcomic title? in need of suggestions

i know, i know...i already have an ongoing webcomic in my hands, and upcoming exams from art academy so i shouldn't put more work on my shoulder right now, but still i'd like to hear what you think about this. I don't have a proper plot, but i've been thinking about this character for one year now, so i think it's time for them to see the light of the sun :slight_smile: Basically it's a lesbian love story, between an aggressivemì, chainsmoker, biker girl with short hair, acting tough and act…

you probably know that i'm thinking about creating a GL webcomic.
Almost everything is setted already: characters, plot, envoirment, context etc etc...
But i'm missing something important: the title.
I couldn't think of anything original enought for this webcomic D: i mean, is a complicated love story between a tomboy girl and her opposite stereotype, with nothing special, just some drama and sex scenes of course.
So i searched for some lesbians slangs and common words to use in the title to create something, these are the ones i prefer:

• Dyke
• Bulldyke
• Femme
• Lipstick
• Stem
• Fairy lady
• kiki
• Girlfriend

I mixed some of them with new words as well and this is all i could think of, but still not fitting:

• Bullfemme or Bull x Femme: because it's a relationship between a "Femme" lesbian and a "Bull" one
• Plus (+) Girlfriends: totally random, but very manga-like ahaha
• Girlfriend touch: i played a lot with the word "touch" because of the power of one girl.
• Touch: very simple, direct, allusive
• Femme touch; more specific

Well there are my (pretty vague) ideas, do you guys have other title/words to suggest?

EDIT:: after reading some replies i think i won't use any direct lesbian slang, I'm not part of the LGBT community, so i really don't know how to handle this subject.

What I can offer from your already self thinking title since I'm not that creative(?) :

• Her Touch

• Lipstick and Girlfriend

• A Bull and A Femme (this is so bad)

• The Bull and Fair(y) Lady

• BullXFemme

• When a Bull (or whatever slang you want) and Fairy Lady (or whatever slang you want) collide

• Collide (or Collision)

• This Odd (or 'unlikely') Couple

• actually there's more, but I limit it for now. If you don't like any of it, you can wait for another peoples to give you a better suggestion instead

id avoid just 'dyke' on its own on the basis that like... ya thats a Funky History but if youre gonna go into the history of butch/femme culture bulldyke would be a really cool title thatd get me interested

Wasnt there a thing a while back that said plaid was a lesbian thing? You could use plaid too.

like Plaid Fairy lady or Plaid Touch.

idk if you're part of the LGBTQ community or not, but using "slang" feels... patronizing. As a member of the community I would NEVER pick up anything with the word "dyke" or "fag" on it without knowing who made it and where it's coming from and what its intended usage is. Those words have a very complicated history so I would be careful with using them. Also, why use stereotypical lesbian things in the title? Just name it a nice title that fits the story.

I think Her Touch sounds nice

It kind of depends on what kind of story/romance you want your comic to have. “Her Touch” is soft, sweet, and kind of subtle.
But It looks like you’re gojng for an in-your-face “THIS COMIC HAS LESBIANS IN ITTTTT!!!” Kind of feel. Which, some people might dig if it’s that kind of story. But like other people said before, maybe be careful with the lesbian slang - it might make some people uncomfortable.

So basically, play around with words. What’s the theme of your story? Is there a motto? Is there an important quote? A lesbian comic doesn’t have to have the word “lesbian” in it.

This is very true! Like I kind of wince at the word "dyke" because growing up and still to this day to an extent I've only ever heard it used disparagingly.

You're not the first one telling me this haha sorry, indeed, using lesbians slangs could even sound rude or desrespectful towards the ones who are a part of the LGBT community (i'm not part of it).
I thought about "Her touch" and i'm probably gonna use that.

Yeah I could tell when you used "kiki" as lesbian slang. Just, you know, before you try and make a buck out of the gay dollar learn about the community. I am not attacking you personally but this is a great vehicle for this situation and discussion. There are A LOT of straight cis gender creators who just wanna write about LGBTQ stories because they're "popular." They are popular because we don't have them in the mainstream so we consume what we can get, however, many of those are just... bad, patronizing, and sometimes plain old insulting. So get out there and ask real people who have lived the situations you want to write about, don't just assume you know how the lesbian world works because google told you so, it will make your story more believable and much more likable.

The problem here is that i don't have real friends or acquistances in the LGBT community, so i don't know who could i ask to...

Webcomic is all about "will they click it", it's a war of getting attention, good thumbnail, good title play a big role of getting more click for you.

Instead of looking for a cool, meaningful title, think like this "What kind of title will make people curious and click on it ?". So I suggest something like "I'm a girl and I'm dating a pervert old woman", yeah, don't use it, think of something relate to your own story.

Just so you know, most of BL readers are pervert girls and most of GL readers are pervert guys, they enjoy LGBT stuffs but most of them don't really know how the real LGBT community really works, including slangs, so yeah, using those won't help, all they care about is 2 beautiful girls kissing each other, so yeah, if you want to hook GL readers, think of something that a horny guy would click on it.

You wanna attract readers, yes, but you also don't want to be click-bait. Because if your story is not what the title and thumbnail says it is, you'll only make people not wanna read it. They will go in, thinking it's something else (aka, something "perverted" or whatever), and get upset when it's not. Dunno if you'd want those type of readers anyhow. Just be careful doing stuff like click-bait.

Unless you're trying to go for satire or parody.

But honestly, I'd do a title that's related to the main plot at hand. Like sure, you're doing a Girls Romance comic -- but what's the plot? Why are they falling in love? What is the one common thing they have that drawn them together? Or rather, why are they so different?

I'd steer away from using slang and kinda focus on the personalities of your characters.

So you mentioned one is a biker and another is a mean girl (I see her as some fashionista for some reason). But their outward appearances are not their insides. How about basing your title on that? Some like:

Wheels and Heels
Leather and Fur
She Sees Through Me

That's exactly my point. If I were you I would put this in the back burner and meet people that have lived what you want to write about. Not knowing anyone is not an excuse to not get educated about the things you wanna write about. I am very privileged to be able to live in an area full of LGBTQ people, but I know that's not everyone's case. Hit up some forums online, read some LGBTQ literature, watch documentaries, there are other ways of learning about the community if you don't know anyone or live in an area that's not LGBTQ friendly. I am telling you this partly because I am tired of seeing people and companies try to make money off of us without really knowing what's going on and because if this is gonna be a GL comic it better be a DAMN GOOD ONE! No more shitty BL and GL comics haha
