Good ol' VHS Ads

Man, back before DVD's and Blu-Rays and streaming overtook our lives, there were VHS tapes. Plus, they had some great ads. For me, I had some Scooby-Doo VHS movies, and they always had this awesome promo:

This is Spooksville...

Reah, Rooksville...

Oh my gosh, I remember this entire VHS opening for Scooby Doo & The Alien Invaders. And I know it's this one because they even previewed for the Courage the Cowardly Dog short that came after (which was "The Curse of King Ramses")

There were also these cool skits during Scooby Doo's Greatest Mysteries

And then on some of the VHS, there would be that little dial up sound at the end (like someone dialing on the old telephone).

OH man I remember those!! As for the Courage Short, mine (The Witch's Ghost movie) always came with the Series Pilot "The Chicken from Outer Space" I loved watching both the movie AND the short, so it was like getting double the content for double the fun! And instantly hooked me into Courage right afterward.

Aaaaand we also had Betamax...OMG, I was a toddler when we got this. Ironically I have an easier time remembering the ads of the Betamax than the VHS even though I was older by then.
This promotional tape is tattooed in my memory because it was the first time I heard Mozart. My brother and I played it over and over and being basically babies we didn't speak English but the music speaks for itself.
