Greetings from the Newcomer - Let me see your comics! :)

I finally decided to take the plunge to make an account here, so I just wanted to say hello. I've worked on a long-time webcomic called Wayrift, which will be turning 12 years old next week (seriously)! I've decided to start uploading here on a daily basis because I really like the mobile aspect of Tapastic, and I'd like to get to know other comic makers (self-hosting outside of a community can get lonely).

So now that I've said my hellos, I'd love to know more about you guys and check out what you're working on. Please feel free to tell me about your comic projects, since I'm totally new and have nothing on my reading list. I'll be happy to check it out!

Please don't suggest NSFW stuff, however. That's just not what I prefer to read. Thanks!

Yeah, 12 years is pretty crazy. I think the biggest obstacle my co-writer and I have is that our archives are so huge! I'm not quite sure the best way to ease a new reader into our stuff without overwhelming them... and the better stuff (in my mind as the artist) doesn't happen until the newer, full-colored art in Book 2.

You know how you look back at old stuff and cringe? Yeah. I have over a decade of that to look at and people won't let me redraw it! laughs

Thanks so much! I've decided to post my comic daily here, despite the fact that the introduction to Book 2 (which I'm posting now) is a few years old already! On the website, we're moving into Chapter 62 next week!

It goes through various changes, of course. I think every comic artist knows how that feels.

Dang, 12 years is a long time and I admire your commitment!

I COULD say that ive been working Hazy Daze for 10+ years, but thats just how long the story and characters have been floating around my head for, and ive only been actually posting for about a year and a half.

I know that feeling -- many of my characters existed a long time before I actually put them in a comic. A year and a half is nothing to sneeze at. Making comics can be hard work!

I run Curiosities and Tragedies (tapastic.com/series/curiositiesandtragedies), which is mostly about a cat that deals with complicated relationships and feelings. Currently they're just one panel comics, but I'm working on creating more narrative/multi-panel pieces. I try to post about three times a week. Enjoy! And also feel free to suggest a topic to do!

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes! I'll be sure to check out your comics and read through them all!

After going back and forth on how to best present my comic, I decided to upload in chapters rather than individual pages. I also might go back and upload Book 1 of my comic as well -- though the art is really old! cringe I'm afraid that folks might get confused starting in Book 2, though that's where our newest and strongest content is showcased!

Any thoughts on how you guys prefer to read or post your comics?

I prefer to read the whole thing even if the art is old I like to look at the process,
but I understand the need to keep things simple and clean
so maybe a link to the original site but keep the vomiv here well organized :3

I really appreciate your thoughts on this! I've heard that from other people, as well. But you know how artists are... cringy about old stuff!

I'm considering creating a "Book 1" for my comic that I update along with Book 2. That way, if people want to see the old stuff, they can. But people who just want to read the newer stuff can do that too. Sound like a good compromise?
