Hey all, question for those who would like to answer.

I have a book/novella (43,000 words) that's done. I have some tweaking I want to do to it. It'll take me about a week or less to do from what I have planned out. I'm also currently posting a book currently. I don't know if that makes a difference or not here...

Should I just post it all at once, or schedule set releases of chunks? I don't know what's better for the algorithm here.

Thanks!

The best for getting reads on Tapas is to post daily in episodes of 700 to 1.3K words length. Scheduling is very convenient for finished work. You can just schedule batches and focus on other stuff while the book is doing its thing

I'm not too familiar with how novels work but if it's anything like comics, scheduled posts will do a lot better (especially if releases are consistent). Pretty much the only reliable way to gain an audience is to constantly be at the top of the fresh page and the only way to do that is to constantly be updating your series.

@domisotto @domisotto gotchya-gotchya, and thanks for replying! So, schedule posting is still a recommended thing to do for views. Does it matter that I'm currently posting something else? I saw something about that being a bad idea but never got a reason for it...

It doesn't matter that you're currently posting something else! I have two series going on right now, one that updates 3 times a week and one that I only update one day a week. I had a lot of subscribers follow my second one when I first started posting it and I'll often get people who read through the entirety of my first novel and then go and read and subscribe to what I have up of my second

Schedule your work to update roughly 3 times a week or more, then work on your next book while that one is uploading.

Under the old algorithm, it wasn't suggested to do so, as it's easier to promote something and push it to the top of popular one at a time. But under the new algorithm it's just not possible to reach the top spot anymore as it's always Premium series, so it's entirely up to you.

Try daily updates. People will be able to follow along, but you will also get a lot more engagement this way, and will have more time to work on any other project you might have.

Schedule! Schedule! Schedule! Aside from giving yourself time to tweak your work where you'd like it to, it gives you and your readers time to test the waters. I've uploaded completed stories online before and got super discouraged because people weren't reading it. When I started on Tapas, I scheduled my work by chapter and the response was so much better.

I have a novel that I currently finished months ago. I'm posting mines up at least 3 times a week. As the others have echoed, schedule your posts. Tapas's posting schedule is lovely. It's easier to post things up at time especially if your novel is pretty long going like mines!

I advise scheduling the chapters as @cherrystark said. Update about 3-4 times a week or something that's optimal, update daily.

Keep in mind to have 24h between each update so it comes up in Fresh. There are many readers looking for new books to read in.

Good luck!
