Have you done videos of your comic?

Hello!! some time ago i was discussing with other comic creator friends about different ways to promote our comics, and one interesting idea was making sort of "trailers" or videos meant for youtube, fb etc. i re-took the idea for a crowdfunding i'm doing (although is for printing the AC book in spanish, so i don't feel so well asking my english readers for that, i may offer digital pdfs/little free commissions for $6-12 donations for them tho )

anyway here's the result, is meant for crowdfunding but i think it ended up being a decent recap for the first 6 chapters:

I admit it put a smile on my face seeing it finally in hd on the page i wanted to ask you guys if you've been done something similar, (say videos, trailers, motion comics, streamings) how they have worked out and if you can share them here. Let's see and discuss them!

Well, I don't really have trailers so to speak, but I did make a silly animation with characters from my comic:

but could be funny... even to promote a "new season" with small spoilers XD

but i ve got an insane idea to do a sort of movie, just using my works (Sketch/drawing) put a music, some sound fX and the text as subtitles (like an old game) to replace baloons.
but this idea it is just in a limbo for the future.

Hehe, I did make an animatic of a mock anime opening which could be a trailer. Maybe I'll finish it when I have the time...

Awe no, but I kind of want to in the future for one of my comics. If I do end up making a video for one of them, I think it would be really cool to have voice actors to read some of the lines in the comic if I get the chance to do it.
I did make a practice animation for two of my characters in my other comic if that counts. :'D

I'd like to make a video someday, like, set comic panels to music, but I wouldn't know what softwear to use. What did you use @Exeivier?

You made me remember something i forgot to add! i hate editing video haha. But a lot of people seem to feel atracted to it so i do when needed. i had a semester with sony vegas, then adobe after fx (wich was a little harder) but once i got the grip of those i pretty much can work with almost any vid software, i did the video of my post in adobe premiere in two days (later i saw i started the project in a wrong size and had to accomodate/animate a few hours more u,u )

im really into this idea! im kinda butt at animation tho but i like thinkin of trailers and themes and junk i could make for it. i DID make one a while ago for a class but parts of it are kinda cringey to watch again

i actually make all kinds of videos (mostly for fun) for my comic... most of them being music videos which i'm hesitant to really show in public lol. (don't know if it'd work as being seen as promotional or people finding it self-centered for me making music videos of my own things ono )
But I did make a trailer/teaser too :V (was thinking of making a new one sometime too)

I didn't make a trailer for my comic (not much to "trail" yet) and I don't know if I'll ever take the time to but I made a short anim of my characters to celebrate the +200 subs :

Are there anyone here from inkblazer ? I remember the trailers they used to make, some of them where pretty neat... Does anyone remember how that worked ? Were they made by the staff ? (@myung I remember there was a trailer for Simon sues, did you make it ?)

Yup, on IB the staff would collect material and create the trailers for you. Although you were always free to volunteer to help out.

Wow! These're so good! For me my friend made a video about Dreamcatchers. She wanted to make hungarian mangas more popular. I wanted to make openings or endings for my comics, but I have no idea how, so it's just a dream XD

I am useless at animation but I edited a little slideshow of images from Shadesofmen.

I'll try a better one if I have time. I don't think it really shows what's going on.
But a good video needs to be made from scratch. I am not gonna get away with recycling...

As in trailers no, I no longer have any cool programs like Sony Vegas to do that but I have done speedpaints for the illustrations of my comic ^_^
