So my male and female lead from "Damsel in the Red Dress" are both Mexican, though he's Mexican-Korean and she's Mexican-Navajo, they were both mostly just raised Mexican-american, so I won't count it.

They are however a full 12 inches apart in height, which is definitely a sizable gap. The gap appears a lot smaller in most contexts though because he can't stand completely upright, and is usually in his wheelchair.

I remember @HostileFren mentioning having two supporting cast members where the wife was taller than the husband so this looks like as good a place as any for a plug lol.

In Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy Days one of the very first romantic interests of the MC (me) was very short for his age and also was Lebanese. He was older (only by a year) but much, much smaller. I used to say he was a fart in a mitten.

The first and only girl that my MC dated was also significantly shorter than him (me). She was 4’11” to my 6’3”. She was also Micmac (aboriginal). And three years older.

And the first guy I had a real long term relationship with was about 7” shorter than me but was thirteen years older (I was 25, he was 38). That relationship was a disaster but was also a learning experience

Let's see... For Apparent Secrets, we have a couple contenders for "main love interest" for Iris.

She's 1' 3" shorter than Zayzann in his Paxoram form, and a year younger than him.

She's 5" shorter than Alden, and five years younger than him.

I'm not sure what qualifies as an "age gap" couple, but physics would definitely play a factor in the "height gap" category.

I think it's a bit more of a height Gap than an age gap. Physics is definitely a huge barrier, but I'm not sure five years makes much of a difference for most people. (Does for me as I just became a legal adult but not once you're like 20 I think lol)

My biggest age gap issue in any of my stories is in a series I have where the ML is 19 and the FL is 26. It's not technically a huge gap, but he does deal with the some stress and jealousy from no one respecting him as her partner, no matter how much he tries to protect her. Basically anyone who wants to flirt with her does, and they don't care that they're together, because they see him as a kid and don't understand why she'd marry him.

Yeah, I imagine it's different than if a 40+ person and a 50+ person get together. Maybe age is just a number after a certain point.

yeah, that could be a seven inch gap I think. My brother is 7 inches taller than me, so I'm about as tall as his chin

I totall forgot that Melissa and Miguel (her husband) have an even bigger gap than Kattar and Alicia at 15 inches difference (Melissa is 4'7, Miguel is 5'10)

So, this doesn't really count as an age gap couple, but I will mention it, because Alicia's father was 22, and her mother had just turned 18 when they got married. She still felt in most ways like a kid, she had no idea how to be a wife or a mother (she had Alicia while she was still 18.) She was basically completely terrified and on the verge of an emotional breakdown for the first few years, trying to figure out what she was doing, because the only people she had to give her advice were her older sisters (she didn't talk to her mother anymore.) One was in the middle of a really awful marriage, so she felt bad about trying to bother her, and her oldest sister was just scolding her for marrying a guy like Alicia's dad in the first place and having a child so young. (for clarity, Alicia's dad was a great guy, but he didn't make a lot of money.)

I'm still trying to figure out my in-canon-timeline, tbh. Should done this a while ago...ah, well...

But what I got so far as age: Alec met Teresa when he was 35 and she was 22.

My height chart is still in-progress/whacked (cause I though 5 foot was tall to my 4'11" self, silly me XD) I might go for 6'2" 6'3" for Alec? Teresa maybe 6'1", or a little under cause I have no refs in front of me atm. Gonna draw their models and see what I can fix...

that's a pretty significant age gap between Alec and Teresa. Pretty close to the gap between Melissa and her husband Miguel (9 years). their families are such drastically different ages that Melissa's sister-in-law, her husband's oldest sister, is older than Melissa's mom. (26 years older than Melissa)

I'm really trying to push teen Alec into Vietnam, for extra stuff. And I've drawn Teresa only young, with the exception of no-face drawings...Actually only drew her face once or twice, tbh. There's a motive behind all that. Just hope I remember it when I get to that point...

And i do believe age is just a number (me fast approaching middle age)

Not sure I should count this, because they aren't technically a couple, but Leia is white and one of her crushes (her bff) is African American. He doesn't appear until section four but...
