Hi, I've been here a couple of weeks now but haven't really posted much yet.

I've been wanting to get a comic going but trying to get ideas down was a struggle. I had a sort of a broad strokes idea for a sci-fi epic but always struggled to really get started with it. I've never really done a huge amount of writing before and really struggled to get anything down that either didn't suck or run into a dead end, usually both.

After a while I thought why not start smaller? So I figured I'd take a few of the characters from the above original idea and transplant them into a somewhat more mundane setting, namely put them through university! I figured that's a much simpler premise and it would help me get some experience working with the characters without having to worry about world building.

In the end this has turned out to also be a far more ambitious project than I originally thought! I have got some kind of an outline down though so I guess I'm making progress.

I'm hoping to get something out there eventually. This is only really a hobby for me so I don't expect to make any money out of it as it's just a hobby (of course that'd be nice  ) but if I can improve my drawing and writing skills then it would still be worthwhile.

Anyway, that's a bit about me. Hope things work out here!

Welcome and congrats on the project! Hopefully, it all goes well. If you need any help, we'll be more than happy to offer some advice or bounce ideas.

Hello and welcome!

I'm a novelist so I probably won't be much help to you on the comic front but I will certainly check it out once you are up and running

Hello and thanks! Mostly at the moment it's a) finding time (it's a hobby and I have a full-time job) and b) technical stuff. (How do I use feature X or Y in Clip?) There are a lot of writing issues too, but I guess I'm just going to have to power through that.

Welcome! A small story is a great way to start! Don't feel pressure to be perfect, we all start somewhere. Tapas is an awesome mix of pros and hobbyists, so you are in very good supportive company!

If there are parts you are stuck on, remember you can always reach out to the forums for help. It's what we are here for.

Welcome to the club! I'm not much different from you, had mostly lurked around for a year or so and finally started posting around the forums a few months back as I started developing my current one-shot project. I'll 100% say that being part of this community has improved my comic for the better; I've directly and indirectly gotten advice on writing, scripting, composition, use of color, paneling, perspective, thumbnailing, etc.

So you're in a good place ;D can't wait to see your project get off the ground, keep us posted!

Heyyy! Welcome to the party or whatever.......I really can''t think of a better way to sound cheerful and optimistic at the same time, but anyways ! Am new here too, and if there is one thing you should know and never take for granted is the unbelievable support the community here gives you unlike most creative sites I've been to, which in all fairness were only two, but you get the point. So feel free to linger or read all you want, just don't stress until you get that spark of inspiration you've been looking for.....and then bomb!

In short we're all rooting for ya

Yoo welcome!
Stay around, friend, the forums are a cool cool place of cool cool people!!
