Okay so in order to help my comic grow, I though of doing this fun little thing!
My comic you can check it here.

So my comic has elements of fantasy and psychological horror, and I think it's fitting that I draw your oc's in a creepy manner to keep in theme! Of course it's not going to be one sided you only help me and I don't help you, but for that stuff you can read in the rules!
So how can you get me to do that?
~~~RULES~~~
1) Read my story and consider subbing' OR you can talk or share about my comic with your friends, forums or social media (if you do the latter plz send a small picture that you did, I don't want liars lol)
2) 1 character per user and per story.
3) be patient, do not spam me, you'll get your turn, I'm a bit slow with this, but I do want them to be prettier than the examples I showed you!
4) First on your post if you read it, please comment about the comic, not just "it's nice, it's bad" elaborate a bit more, or put a criticism or write some speculations.
5) Send a picture of your character in your post
6) Make sure to mention in your post what kind of attire your character uses, in case your art is very sketchy or too cartoony for my bad eye sight lol.
7) You can recommend what you want me to turn your character into, werewolf vampires, gothic, alien, etc.
** Ok, but I did this all for you, can you at least sub to me too?
Yes, BUT (oh nooo, what is it this time!)
1) You gotta draw one of the two protagonist of the comic, if you read it you'll know who they are.
2) Make sure it's a sufficiently clean sketch that's also coloured, can be flat or with basic shading. (although tbh you're not going to struggle with the colours, just black white and gray LMAO)
3) Although all characters are puppets or look like ball jointed dolls, you can try to interpret them in a very different manner as well! (idk make them human, furry, etc etc)
4) have fun!
             ~ Enjoy! ~ <3
I subbed to your comic! I love the black and white artstyle (it reminds me of Tim Burton kinda.) I think that Baby is adorable, and her curly hair is just too cute! I wanna learn more about her backstory. Can't wait for next episode, I'm a sucker for creepy things.
Anyway, this is my character Gunhild. She mainly wears suits and long coats, in black, dark green, grey and white. Can you draw her as a victorian Gothic vampire? ( Preferably in Victorian style clothing, I don't mind if it's a dress or a suit) Best wishes :smiley:
I got to say the art style is fantastic. It looks like a beautiful watercolor piece. I also loved the scene where Jupiter winked. However I do think that there is some translation issues. Some things just don't quite seem to make grammatical sense. The first part of Carrilla with the texting especially threw me for a loop. Couldn't make heads or tails of what it was supposed to mean. I'm also not sure you need the mature tag. I don't see any violence or sexual content or even swearing. It might open to more audiences. Now for the other part unfortunately I really can't draw to save my life. So I suppose I'll just give you the review pro bono.
I read the comic, and I'm really enjoying so far. The art is lovely and creative and I am already intrigued with the story. Enthusiastically subbed.
This is Motif, I think he would look cool all creepy cause his face is all covered in scars already. (also that thing on the edge of his face is a big band-aid but I'm not good at drawing it)
Edit: (btw which page, so I can see if there is a possible fix for it)
Actually, when it comes to dialogue, your not the first one to struggle, but people who have read more traditional comics have not given me complaints about dialogue, they know how it goes, so it's something of a pickle for me (I'm torn in between classical comic dialogue and webtoon/tapas format, they're so different!!), btw thank you so much for the feed bad.
And I am not a native english speaker so there might have been some stuff that I missed! even though I got like two other proof readers >.> what are they doing man... now and then they get to read it as a more trad comic... idk man it's confusing, I get like two very different feedbacks and it's not helping me lmao!
As for the mature tag... it's not so much about the violence or the sexuality, but about the very sensitive subjects that are slow but surely going to come (psychological horror is there after all), I have the logic kinda like a movie, not all the movie is nsfw, until it is, so might as well tag it all, but it doesn't work like that on tapas, in fact it questions you about it now, so it's something I'm working to remove until shit literally starts hitting the fan.
As for the characters, it's okay man, you could have also given a description of a character! maybe I should have added that to the rules! You still have a ticket for it :wink:
Thank you for reading and thanks for the feedback, there is a lot of thinks I have to find a good solution for.
The very first page of Carrilla just has some grammatically awkwardness. I get what you mean about it being non traditional. Its one of the things I like about it. Since I like your art style have free reign to draw the character however you like.
The Description:
Name:Lust
Gender: Male
Body type: slim and short
Hair color:Red
Eye color: brown
Age:15-19
Clothing: preferably Medieval but hey feel free to be creative
Notable traits: Cannot speak. Not really something you can draw but interesting
Personality: Timid and Shy
that's pretty neat, I'll be sure to check it out and revisit this thread when I have the time
good work!
I love your art style!! Your page compositions and the inking is great. Do you use photoshop or procreate?
I read chapter 1 and looking forward to reading the rest when I'm free.
This is Heather one of the characters in my series. She's a bit on the thicker (pictured here with her pup who's a black lab with a white face) and wears generally overly sized jackets that she stole from her dad.
Also I love this idea and like having characters to draw mind if i borrow the idea? :slight_smile:
Wow...that's beautiful, especially the ornate dress...
I just read Join me in Heaven. I love the painted look, it's a pleasure to look at. The lighting, especially the way Baby and the sun pop out against other things, is also effective. So far the story feels like a calm meeting before the storm, a little like a prologue -- like the part in The Lion King where the lion tells his kid "all this land will be yours." I know I'm gonna have to brace myself for horror. I love the mysterious way things are introduced, the way we don't know much about magic or the planets and we have to learn as we go.
Neverseen noted translation issues. I think it's great for the most part. I caught a typo with "trough" instead of "through" in "Chapter 2: I wonder if...". The only thing that took me out of the story (that may or may not be translation-related) was at the beginning of that same chapter, with the question, "Could I really trust that?" I wasn't sure what Velasco meant -- trusting Baby's innocence or honesty, I assume?
But I'm enjoying the way the story's unfolding, especially the mood and the slower pace. Subscribed!
I actually have a character from my friend and occasional collaborator Handspike, who does "Magical Heroines?!". His squid-themed schoolgirl Garossu just got a new form called "Flesh and Bone Pink and Blue," who skewers people with these bone spears she grows from her own body:
Ahh thanks for helping me with grammar issues, I'm actually working on correcting them!
as for Velasco and his thoughts, those are his thoughts, you aren't meant to have an explanation there lmao
I'll draw your friend's oc eventually!!!! after I get trough the other, omg people are getting hyped for this drawing thing lol!
Also glad you are enjoying it this much haha, you didn't need to add a whole parragraph, but it has made me happy, also, if you can reply, please do specify the type of clothing, it's important info I need for drawing ya kno'!
That's a fair explanation! (Keeps me in suspense...)
And it's no problem, I've been trying to get myself to talk more about the comics and novels I read (including actually telling their creators "hey I read this, and I liked this part")! Please take your time with the drawing!
Garossu's wearing a kimono. Underneath she has black shorts, exposed knees, and pink boots. The logo on her stomach is a spade with an X behind it. Not actually sure what color it is...you can choose anything for it.
Ho-ly hell this made my day! This is amazing! You got the broken nose and everything! I love it! I'm posting this to my wall with a link to your comic Right. Now.
Just subbed! I admit I’m not entirely sure what’s going on yet, but that might just be because I’m tired and my vision and thinking are getting blurry lol. I am a bit confused by the finding one’s Sun thing, though I’m sure that will be explained as you get further into the story ^^.
I WILL say for certain, however, that the art is beautiful. Even in black and white (which doesn’t detract from the art in any way!), it’s still so vibrant. And the character designs? Chef’s kiss I really like the contrast between Velasco’s tall and lanky build and Baby’s tiny, stocky build. I think they fit the characters really well.
I’m excited to see where this goes! I’m always a fan of fantasy and horror, so Join Me in Heaven is right up my alley.
As for my character, I’d love to see a creepy take on my man Clarence!
(Note: the first artwork was NOT done by me, it was done by a good friend of mine)
I’m including the sketch so you can see what the rest of his outfit looks like (I know the feet aren’t very detailed, so I’ll just say he’s wearing knee-high leather boots). The only thing he really carries with him is a musket.
I’m really okay with however you feel like drawing him, though I guess if I had to pick I’d kinda like to see him in a creepy gothic style? Whatever you feel like, though!
Thanks for offering this and giving me the chance to read your comic!
Hmm, your comic definitely has an interesting artstyle to it. Being that it looks noir and grim. Which you may have been going for. Also, the fact that your two characters stand out in their own way (Velasco with his creepy smile and Baby who looks innocent) is already setting you up for success in terms of quality because there's a lot you could do with that type of relationship. Your subs will enjoy the story very much. I'll tell people about it on my Instagram :+1:.
As for my character, this is Orange from my series The Action Fruit Society. I'd like to see an interpretation of him as a vampire from you. Thanks!!!
Dude, this comic is so trippy in the sense that I experience it through dream. Everything reminds of some sort of weird dream I'm having and like anything is possible. Also, for some reason Velasco seems something straight out of Alice and Wonderland while Baby reminds me of an anthropomorphic sheep. The dichotomy is obvious. I got to say though, I don't really see where the story is headed? It just seems like there is no overarching goal, just like separate episodes of friends getting to be friends. I have to say, that makes it hard for me to want to come back and read more. Though what I have read really draws me in and I love Velasco as he doesn't seem as stereotypical as Baby and has an interesting design. If you could just give the story more stakes, I'd be willing tor read more.
Imma sub cause man I like seeing people make improvements to their story and fellow storytellers gotta support each other. Also, and more importantly, Velasco keeps me intrigued so I would suggest adding more to him in the future and give us something more to worry about.
Here's my Character...
And let me just post my rendition of Velasco...
