I was initially only going to ask my friends, but I realized it's probably best to ask as many people as possible. Could you guys help me choose a cover concept for my novel? Me and my artist are working on a new cover and I really want it to be eye catchy. He sent me four wip examples of the cover:

Just choose which options catches your interest most, though only as a concept:

For reference, this is the story for the cover:

For everyone who responds or votes, thank you for your help

3 has the most dynamic energy from those samples... better fit for the genre.

If both characters have the same level of protagonism i would go with 2, otherwise 3

Technically, the one in the front IS the main character overall for book 1, but similarly, for book 1, the one in the back is just as important as the main character. One just has more page time than the other really.

You know "rule of thirds"? It's like you break an image down into thirds, and these lines are actually where our eyes focus on at first glance. So for this matter, I think the first one is the most suitable to be a cover, like this:

Oh! Thank you breaking it down like this ^^ Indeed, i actually prefer the first one personally. but I also want to take into value which one catches the eye most often, which so far seem to be 3. I think the thing that really stands out on that one is the pose of the character in the front, so I'm thinking we could include that pose and switch it with the one on the first. That way the general cover design would remain 1st, while including the most eye-catchy part of the 3rd, if that makes sense ^^

I think I've decided on what I want to use for the cover. Though I am surprised that two of the options came so close lol. I think we'll go with a sort of mix of the two. I just want to thank everyone again for helping me decide ^^

We are actually going with a mixture of the covers but not like that exactly, though I like your idea too 🤣 we ended up deciding on making the concept look like 1, while copying the pose from 3. So the exact opposite, haha! Though I think they both would look really good ^^

The third one does it for me. I don't know exactly what struck me about it, it just feels more... alive, I guess. It looks cooler as well

I'm sure it's been said several times, but 3 is much more dynamic of a cover. But I like the weapon in hand from covers 1 and 4 as well as the thumb pose between 2 and 4.
