I've found the only way to preserve formatting (italics, etc) from where I write/edit is to export it to HTML and paste that in to Tapas. This is fine, and what I've done on other sites before, but I've been having issues with Tapas arbitrarily adding extra styles when I paste (font size, font color [though the color disappears once I publish]). I've done a number of experiments and I can't figure out when or why, but sometimes my font will be grey and small, other times it will be large and black. I don't care that much which style I end up with in the end (though the smaller font reads better imo), but it's currently random per-episode and seems to get locked to that episode!

What I mean is, I'll copy/paste episodes from the same source into Tapas and some will be large and some will be small. These styles are not coming from the source. The Tapas editor has no options for font size. I can't figure out any way to change it. I've even copied episodes which have ended up with small fonts and pasted them into the editor for episodes with large font and vice versa. I've also tried on both mac and windows. Nothing overrides the font settings Tapas has arbitrarily chosen for that episode. So currently I have 28 episodes published and they keep jumping back and forth between font styles as you read.

Anyone else dealing with this? Please help!

I tried to use your method and it is pasted normally for me. No extras.

If it bothers you so much, maybe try to use ctrl+shift+v when pasting to remove any formatting or selecting the text and use "Remove font style" menu after pasting, then edit everything else manually.

Tapas novel editor is very limited compared to other writing platforms. I also have an error regarding vertical spacing in some earlier chapters that still make me scratch my head, yet apparently it appears normally on the reader's side.

You can also go to the Discord and submit a bug report ticket to the staff or talk to other writers—people seems to be more active there.

I’ll try that paste shortcut. Removing all styles is definitely too much.

Ok, turns out if I ctrl+shift+paste ("remove font style" doesn't work for this), it resets the text box to the default styles, which at least lets me get them all to the larger size which is ok. oh well

Hi!

I really wish Tapas would give us font options. This format is so archaic and every other site allows font style and size options.

After you paste your text, if you find some of it has changed into the Tapas default, highlight that section and click on this weird little symbol.

It's at the top of the writing window.

Highlight ONLY the section Tapas changed.

I hope this helps! :purple_heart:
