How frequently: I check my dashboard almost daily if I've been updating frequently just to see how my numbers fluctuate.

Primary use: ^

Improvements: This doesn't have anything to do with the dashboard, but it would be really nice if Soundcloud got dropped and we were allowed to embed music from Youtube. Soundclod is such a hassel to work with because 80% of the music they let you use is covers or remixes which kinda defeats the purpose. I just want to be able to add whatever songs I want to my updates instead of having to put a link in my author's comment to a Youtube music video.

How frequently would you say that you use the creator dashboard?
Multiple times per day. I always have it up in a tab and refresh many times during the day to see if I have any notifications I need to attend to.

What do you primarily use it for?
Usually to check if I have notifications, hoping to darn heck I got more subscribers or the like.

And, most importantly, what kinds of improvements and/or features would you like to see in the future?
I'd like to see more customization options for one's comic. Altering the background, maybe giving an ability to have custom navigation buttons, and possibly an ability to put up banner ads of one's own choosing, to advertise other Tapas comics/novels, or even if someone wants to join a promotional network that requires all members put a banner ad for that network on their comic page.

  • I use it very frequently. I habitually check it every day.

  • I use it for all those things. I like checking how many views, shares, likes, I get and like to monitor how much ink I have and when it will become available.

  • What I would really love isn’t to be able to see where people shared my comic at. Like if I got 5 shares on one episode, I know one is me and one is my mom sharing it on FB, but where were the other 3 shared at? I don’t need to know who shared it, I just like to know what sites people are sharing it on. And like other times I’ve gotten 13 shares and can only account for a few of them, never finding where else they got shared at.

I’m particular about wanting to monitor the sites my comic is shared on. But that’s the only thing I can really think of.

Tho I wouldn’t mind a mobile layout for the dashboard either. I mostly access Tapas through my browser on my phone and on the mobile site it doesn’t give me an option to check my dashboard so I have to do Request Desktop Site in order to get to it.

  • Actually one more thing. If there’s an option for this, I haven’t seen it, but I’d like the ability to create multiple episodes at once. I do one page per episode so I have to click add episode, upload the page, upload the thumbnail, queue it up, write my thing, then save it... then immediately go back and do the same thing over again. I’d love it if we could create multiple episodes at the same time, where on a single page we can add the pages for each episode, descriptions, and queue them all at once. It would help to streamline the upload process for me if I could create more than one episode at a time.
  1. I check daily and ASAP on weekends.
  2. I usually use it for adding episodes. (I don't have many subscribers and am not old enough to get tips)
  3. Tapas needs more ways to advertise. I don't get many subs no matter what I do. Me being a rookie artist, I feel kinda disappointed when not many see my comic (I get a lot of troll messages). Also, I wish it was easier to see announcements that creators make. I feel no one reads the announcements I put on my board. I don't know how, but I would like something to be changed for that aspect.

Thanks Tapas for all you do. Thanks for giving creators a chance to share their art and many stories to the world. ^w^ Thanks and The TazD is out.

Ok question 1. 2-3 times a week on average. I don't have the subs for ads or anything so I haven't been all excited about it.
2. I don't really have tm to check it day to day, but sometimes I peek. it'd be easier if I could easily see a graph of the week's trends.
3. ummmm maybe have a weekly or daily graph? Also maybe less grey. (Yes I know this is Hue Are You talking, but the dashboard would look lovely in a blue!)

Why hello there general kenobi. It is time to duel.

first of this:
Trap card: lock up: A creator can lock up his content, meaning not anyone can just stroll in, and not just premium comics get to lock episodes, for instance: share to: subscribers only. Or: lock until subbed. or lock until given pass. fake fans just bring us down.

Second: might be inconvenient but it would rev up the user experience and help new stories get the attention they need
Spell card: shot at greatness: Any user with a valid comic (if its spam or trolling, just ban) can once per a certain period of time like a year or 6 months or even once per comic, may activate this option to put their comic in the front page, some corner of the screen but has to be obvious and stays that way for a couple of days, then rotate to another user.

3rd: This could be out of reach but I'll put out there anyway: Tag Team: for newbies or authors who require artists or artists who require a story. some sort of indicator or an option that can be searched on the site.

4th: banish: if anyone unsubs they cant be allowed to sub again, unless invited by the creator.
5th: counters: I'd like to see which fans commented the most (like a point system, 1 pt for each comment)
which fans gave the most likes etc
These are just some ideas to give creators more control over their content, and have a healthy fanbase and not just a number. might be crazy, but I like crazy, try things that actually do something, stats and information are cool, but they don't really do anything, we need more ways to interact and some options, so every creator can operate the way they like.

Daily

I mostly check the available analytics

This isn't quite dashboard related, but it would be nice to be able to group episodes into "Arcs" or the like so for series that have a lot of small updates, there isn't so much scrolling on the side bar and for better organization.

I would like to be able to sort the analytics by the different stats. So if I click "Views", for example, it will sort by ascending or descending order so I can see which episodes are the most or least popular. It would also be nice if there was some sort of formula, such as (viewsxlikesxsharexcomments)/4, to see which are the best overall performing episodes.

How frequently would you say that you use the creator dashboard? (Give us your best guesstimate!)

Every day.

What do you primarily use it for? (Do you like to see how your story is doing on a daily basis, check out how that inkage you’ve collected, or reply to your supporters?)

I typically use it to make announcements to followers. Such as, hiatus', updates about delays, and if I have news about my stories. I also check stats, and comments and ink.

And, most importantly, what kinds of improvements and/or features would you like to see in the future?

Hmm, maybe a way to get to the dashboard on the Tapas app? If there's a way to do it already I haven't figured it out yet.

I second this! (sorry teacher brain is on and I am tired)

Also, I do make announcements as well, but I'm not great about it.

Oh! I love this idea! Right now I do the (chapter number).(page number): (chapter title) thing (ex: 1.1 Dawnlight is my first chapter and first page).

But it becomes a hassle to type all that out. Mostly when the titles start getting longer. Like I’ve got one called “Hexennacht” coming up, split into multiple parts. I’d LOVE to be able to have it listed as Hexennacht as the Arc and then give the chapters their own chapter names. So like rn I’m working on Hexennacht Part 2 (Chapter Title Pending). I’d love if I could set it up as an arc tho.

Right now things look a bit unorganized to me. On SmackJeeves, for example, you can create chapters and upload pages in those chapter sections so the navigation stuff looks nice and organized. Even something like that would be great.

How frequently would you say that you use the creator dashboard?
- I bookmarked the Dashboard page so it's the first thing i see when i click myself to check Tapas (which means daily)

What do you primarily use it for?
- I mainly use it for the comic page editing thing (after checking notifs) because I make buffer pages often ahead of time and go back to tweak the scheduled episodes all the time

And, most importantly, what kinds of improvements and/or features would you like to see in the future?
1. Better inbox system, because sometimes I've missed a few notifs. Separate categories for comments, likes and Tapas announcements would be nice
2. A way to rearrange the order of episodes / an option to add new ones in-between the old ones
3. Option to group pages into Chapters etc. Better for organizing comics with different formats, for example my pages don't match the default "Episode" numbering at all haha

How frequently do I use the creator dashboard:
4 - 6 times a week or more depending what's going on and how active the subs are
What do you use it for:
Check stats, Ink stuff and to see new likes, subs and comments.
Improvements
I'd personally like to see a 'chapter' choice. So we can put the pages/section of a chapter under another tab and can easily get back to the page you were on. I know that's worded bad so instead I will use pictures

Red chapters, blue pages in that chapter.

My issue comes up because I have had to go back to a page in chapter 2 to see something again... while being on a page in chapter 6, and the scrolling sometimes bugs out and wont go up or goes back to the bottom for no good reason.
That's all ^_^

I know that's not really a dashboard issue... but it's something hahaha

1. Very often. I upload artwork and warnings in there to keep my few readers updated.

2. Artworks, updates, promotion and warnings.

3. I would like you guys to put more emphasis and actually warn people both on PC and on phones that we've updated when we put up new pages, instead of not warning everyone (By updating I mean updating a single chapter with new pages instead of making a new chapter just for two or less pages).

How frequently would you say that you use the creator dashboard?

Only when I upload story or randomly some times want to know the performance

What do you primarily use it for?

Mainly to upload, and check if there is new comment or subs

what kinds of improvements and/or features would you like to see in the future?

Really would like to jump to the episode in episode performance

I use the Dashboard daily, this is usually where I check for notifications and subs and other stats.

I use it mostly to upload and do the usual stat checking.

I think like what @joannekwan suggested earlier: a place to sort out the notifications/activity according to type? This is mostly for comments/replies-- I like to engage with my readers and it can be a hassle to go through each notification and then go to the linked update and scan for the replies there. Maybe a place where I can reply to comments on the dashboard?

I usually have my tapas tab set to the dashboard and occasionally look at how many likes/subs I've gotten recently. I think it would be nice if you could add a thing to see your daily comments to that too, but I don't care too much about it

I'm just gonna throw out all my suggestions lol. Maybe some of them already have answers; maybe some don't.

I would like to be able to check my notifications/stats via my phone app and ipad app.

It would be wonderful if I could upload via my mobile (novel) and ipad pro (comics).

It would also be nice to give creators more of a chance by updating your "Staff Suggestions" more often with different stories rather than the same ones over an over.

Love the site, though. Just a few things that I think would help as a creator and a reader.

How frequently would you say that you use the creator dashboard?
Every 2-3 days

What do you primarily use it for?
I check what happens in the daily performance and am mostly interested in new subs and new comments.

And, most importantly, what kinds of improvements and/or features would you like to see in the future?

I'm going to be super nit picky here:
I would love to be able to decide which series is visible by default in the "series performance" tab. I have two series on hiatus, and one of them is visible first, forcing me to select my active series every time I want to check. Help me be more lazy, please.

After that, defaulting to "daily" reports instead of "monthly" would be awesome.

I know tracking shares isn't easy, but IF it was, a tab for shares would be cool as well.

Stat information like how your readers found you would be great as well. (direct, from "fresh", from promotion, search, twitter, idk). Basically, if you can magically turn into Google analytics, you guys would not only be rich, but also make me happy ;D

Episode performance is nice and all, but since the data is accruing, I can't really tell how the individual episodes are doing on an individual basis over time. Are readers dropping off after a specific episode? Is a specific episode especially well liked this month? I can't really tell right now, since, of course, my first episodes will have the most views no matter what.

Overall, data that can help me understand my reader and their behavior better would be amazing. It can be used to learn what works and what doesn't - which joke hit, which story element really struck a cord... stuff like that. I have no idea if that's in any way possible, but you didn't necessarily say that you were looking for realistic suggestions ;D

Howdy, Tapas! I use my creating dashboard daily... orz It's generally a checkup but can also be updating or creating comics. As for suggestions, I think it's be really great if 1. When updating/creating a comic or such, you could preview what it would look like when released publicly, and also 2. If there were more ways to advertise your work. I'm not entirely sure what that might look like, but just a way to publicize your work more often. That's all, folks! Thanks for coming to my TED talk. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
