Hi Tapastic!

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself and my comic series, Red Hot Rebellion: The Mission. It is a comic book/music album combination that is perfect for this platform!

Each Wednesday I will release a new episode that comes with a free music download link in the description. And because Tapastic is awesome they had the foresight to include Soundcloud integration so you can also stream the corresponding song while you read! Aww yeah.

The comic is about aliens who come to Earth to save the world with the power of rock n roll. And the music is high energy rock n roll/metal/punk. Drinking man's music. Not thinking man's music.

I've always loved the marriage of visual art and music. I hope you dig it too.

I love the idea of combining music with comics, I for one listen to specific genres when I'm creating certain comic scenes, and I've been thinking of adding tracks from Soundcloud to my pages here on Tapastic too.
However- there are a few problems. Namely, it can be really hard to read a page and concentrate on it with music in the background, especially the more energetic music with lyrics. This is one reason I haven't added any music to my comic yet. It can be done well, depending on how text heavy or complicated a page is. Subtle background ambient music may be easier to read to.

Still, every comic is different and what works for one may not work for another! I really like the vibes I'm getting from this, the music definitely adds to the atmosphere.

i like the idea and look of it so far! ya only got 1 page so i dunno too much more about it. but i like the combo of music and comics! usually people just try to figure out a way to draw music but actually havin music in it is totally somethin we can do with webcomics! HAH. so cool

Right on! I considered blasting the whole thing out quicker, but it seemed like once a week was a manageable time frame. Stick around. It gets nuttier and the music gets more rocking!

I agree that the wrong music (or if you're just not a fan of the music the creator is presenting) can distract from the experience. With this project, I went for this: the comic book is a story being told from a third person observer perspective and the music is the same story being told from the band's perspective (first person).
And I'm hoping that people like getting a free music download with each episode and want to collect them to complete the album. I put download links in the comments for the episodes, but I'm not sure it works for mobile users --. Did you try the download?
