Holy cow 3k subs on Webtoon with a little more than a month

Sooooo I started a webcomic on Tapas and on Webtoon, I was far more focused on getting subs on Tapas, because adsense and stuff that is easier to get there. I made like 0 promotion on webtoons.
And then my comic got first page under specials and rising star!

I had around 500 subs and in less than a week I reached 2k and a week later 3k

I'm in shock because I was prepared to post for more than 6 months without receiving much attention.

And now I am in doubt if it is worth investing more in promotion for Webtoons instead of Tapas.

I have not published my comic on webtoon BC I chary the community here on Tapas.
But shall I really try to go there?

As with the case for most comics that go on webtoons simply because they have a much larger audience.

I would still focus on both platforms since you're just starting out.
It's hard to gauge your audience until you've been doing it for a year or more, particularly if you want to start pushing a Patreon or ko-fi. I've known people in the past who get an avalanche of subs after a feature on webtoons, and then start losing them, most likely because webtoons has a limit on how many series one can follow (caps off at 100).

Congratulations! This is exactly why it's worthwhile to post your content on as many platforms as possible. You have no idea when it's going to "stick."

I personally redirect all my promotion to webtoons simply because their monetization is a lot higher than tapas (no hate to tapas at all, tapas is superior in different ways) but IMO webtoons already does a good job at advertising your comic through the search engine. Of course why not just link both when promoting so the readers can choose?

You should make your own decisions about where you want to post your work. Michaelson works hard to maintain Tapas and is doing an excellent job at making the site the best it can be.

Thanks for the insights

I started posting on Tapas because is the best place to interact with the rest of the community. I think I'm doing really well there seeing other comics similar to mine. And I love the app and site. I wish I had the same amount of views on Tapas.
About Webtoons, I already have the minimum number of subs, buuut I dont have the US PVs for being eligible for their adsense.

So I think I'll invest on holding my numbers on webtoons until I reach the views I need there.

But obviously I will still spread my links of tapas because I am already able to receive adsense and donations of ink and it would be foolish not to pay attention to the public there. I just wish they were more active in the comments

I already have a patreon just to link with my webtoons account, but it does not hurt to leave here too

WOW!!! I just posted mine on webtoons a few minutes ago and already have 14 subs... it is a lot more fast paced for sure!!!

Webtoon has like 10x the audience tapas has. So you're gonna grow faster there than here. Idk how tapas plans to change to grow more because I have 3 apps
