Holy crap! Has anyone checked out MS Paint lately?

So I've just fired up MS Paint for the first time in about a month, and was shocked at the changes. I use MS paint occasionally when I want to do a quick, dirty, and simple edit.

It seems that Microsoft has brought its humble little paint program into the, well, not quite 21st century, but still, it's been modernized.

Layers! Transparencies! Brushes! I never thought I'd ever see the day!

It must be a windows 11 thing. I just opened it on my windows 10 computer and it looks exactly the same

I do run Win11, so maybe.

Here's what it looks like now. It also allows you to remove the background colour of an image. I haven't tried any of this yet because I've got much better programs to do that stuff, but it's cool to see MS adding features to Paint, especially as they were trying to kill it off a few years ago. The text in this screenshot is tiny because my screen resolution is 3840X2400 and I had to reduce the image down to 1000 pixels to satisfy this forum.
