Hey ther SilverLugia456!

My name is Vyper, and I've been on Tapas for about a year now.

I started out following whispwill's work, and from there I found Pandemonium from @MaggieW

Up until the point I started posting on Tapas, only my friends had heard of my stories. It was a bit unnerving to finally start sharing my works with the rest of the world, but after I worked up the courage, I published the Prologue section of my comic and waited to see if anyone would actually be interested in following me. I was really surprised at the feedback I received, and it encouraged me to keep on going!

I had my own website, but i got so sick of being bogged down by running it and sorting out bots and spam and all that crap that takes me away from writing and drawing i decided to move my comic here where i don't have to bother with all that other stuff. that was with a different ( and now dead) comic. i have a new comic now and hope to do better with it.

Let's see... I was searching for comics apps and found tapas last year, that time I wasn't even thinking about to make a webcomic, just to read casually. But then I became interested in making one, so I started without any idea of what I was doing, just trying to make my art the best as possible (my avatar was the MC of my first webcomic on tapas), but the story wasn't planned and I didn't have patience to draw humans, so I deleted it after posting 4 short episodes hahaha (I still use it as an avatar to haunt me and never do what I did again)

One of the struggles I had was with anatomy, as someone who has never learned it, I traced photos of my hands... THAT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE, because the hands not only didn't look natural, but they also made me burn out much more than if I was using it as reference (not tracing)...

I made another webcomic this year called "Who are you?" all the characters are anthro cats, and they have The Powerpuff Girls hands and feet (I was too lazy to try to draw paws or human hands)

Now I'm working on a webcomic that has human cartoon characters, and the struggle to draw hands is real, but not as the same it used to be last year

I didn't meet my goal, yet, I still have so much to learn about anatomy, how to make my art consistent and draw backgrounds

Hi! I'm Mari Montoya  I discovered this site through webtoons and thought it was just another webcomic site but then lo and behold I found novels and I was like "What you can do that?" because up till then I just heard about sites like wattpad.
So, then began a should I publish a story? or should I not? I worked up the courage in about a week and published out of curiosity to see what the community was like and whether I was even good at writing. I made my first writer friends @TheNiceGuys. It was nerve-wracking even with the very few people that read my story (which wasn't very good) I was so nervous and excited at the same time, because people I don't even know are reading this.
Now, after figuring out what and how I want to write I got two new stories and still just as nervous and excited the difference is I now have a community and other writer friends to support me.

Welp. I started on tapas last summer because I was bored and had to take math class for two months out of my summer. I decided to take a look at tapas and see what the requirement for publishing a comic was because the last time I saw tapas or at the time "Tapastic" was a couple of years ago. To my surprise, they accepted novels to I just decided to start writing. I didnt have a plans other than "hey lets write and kill some time! It'll be fun  "

One year later here I am XD

I'm coming up on a year in August, I believe.

Really, I was looking for a place besides Twitter and tumblr where I could showcase my stories. However, I can't quite remember how I found out about tapas. Must have been as simple as a Google search.

My initial goal was to just put out content which I have been doing. I wanted to do just a series of one shots, but one of those ended up turning in a bit of a series for me.

I have plans/ideas for other stories that I would love to do but have been unable to find someone to collaborate with.

My memory is kinda bad, so this might not be accurate lol.

Before I know tapas, I only know wattpad, and I wrote there for a while, then I get to know tapas.

At first, I'm only know tapas to read comic. And I stay a reader until 2017.

Mid 2017, I discovered digital art (I f*ckin live under the rock) and medibang for mobile.

Realizing I finally able to make comic and at least realizing my dream (er, I'm still working to make it true...) to create comic. I creat some 4 koma series because I'm still practicing, but I'm on hiatus because I feel rather disappointed on that one series (more is because I feel dissapointed of myself).

I then wrote some novel series, which also in hiatus.

Now I'm making another series and hoping that I can upload 1 chapter a week at least. In also currently making a comic that's still under progress and won't be published on tapas at least until the 12th month or never year.

Well, all in all, I love the community.

So my journey with Tapas started way back in April 2015. I had actually been publishing my first webcomic Demon House for a couple months on tumblr before remembering this hosting site called Tapastic that a college friend told me about in 2013.

I began posting, I garnered an audience, and every week that I updated I looked forward to seeing people's reaction to my work, still do to this day. I've grown a lot with this site, published 5 stories (3 still on-going), met some really fantastic people, started my own store, feeling that I'm somewhat worthy as an artist … and I've encountered many new opportunities that I otherwise would not have had if I never came to Tapas.

I used to always want to publish a comic so I had a lot of different stories and ideas and changed them until I finally started when I got a set plot and characters in my head. it wasn't really what I was hoping for when I started out until recently when I've finally gotten better at art. no I haven't met my goals yet but I'm still planning on continuing my comic for a really long time so there's still time

I joined 2013 as a reader only after an artist I followed began publishing here.

I had severe readers block at the time and found reading comics much easier and the experience a lot more engaging.

When Tapas introduced novels I hadn't published anything for two years (but have written two unpublished novels). I'd already pulled all my stories from Wattpad (due to my growing dislike of the site).

I decided I'd start publishing here late last year after a bitter argument with myself about whether or not my stories were worth reading. I didn't have any goals. I have all these completed stories and I really wanted people to read them.

So far my experience has exceeded my expectations and I've been extremely fortunate (but my imposter syndrome tells me to not get too cocky among other things)

I started on Tapas because Webtoon doesn't allow me to draw and upload porn... lol

I'm not sure should I write this since I'm not actually 'there yet', but I do it anyway XD

I found out about tapas from my friend late 2016 or early 2017 (can't remember XD) because we where searching some good places to publish comics. I've been here as a reader since, and tried my best to work with my comic. I wasn't sure should I actually publish it some day, until my friend started to do so. Her comic 'Melted1' started almost right after we found tapas, and she got nice amount of people to read her comic. Now she's rebooting her comic because of some issues she has with it (never make a story only thinking what would people like to read, remember to make a story you would like to tell!) and we decided the deadline to be sometime 12.2018. It is exiting to get to publish my comic at the same time with a friend!

Before that I started a comic about myself, telling some funny stories about my days. it's for fun, and I guess I rarely post any updates, but it is only to experience how it felt to have a comic, and actually draw it. I've drawn comics a long time, but only once posted some pages somewhere, so this is really new to me.
I haven't actually haven't met my goals yet, at least not the biggest ones. I have been reading A LOT of advise and 'rules' so I could start like I actually know something.
The best thing to remember is not to worry too much. I am a really good example of that, since I haven't published my comic anywhere in 7 years. X'D you need time to be ready, but don't take TOO long, if you don't actually need it.

Ookay. Lotsa stories goin on here.

I've been writing for sometime. Even starting in Wattpad for a bit, before I wandered into the seedier parts of Wattpad and scared me off that site. That site still gives me the creeps.
I was reading Webtoons for some time already (following some comic recommendations from the Internet) when I stumbled into Tapas.

The deal got sweeter when I heard they had a novel section.

So I got started writing up some of my things, and (I think) got a modestly sized fanbase. This was also my first time getting into some BIG forum, and got to know some familiar names.
If there's any newcomer reading this, I'll just say: get ready to meet lotsa people. Chuck all your preconceived notions of anything out the window and just enjoy finding new works of art.
And...just write. Or draw. Or do whatever.

Hello there, welcomee!
Errrr,,,,well.
I knew about Tapas since last summer, when i decided that i wanted to draw my comic but didn't know where to publish it, so i asked my manga comics teacher where i could post a short story, and she suggested me this site! at first i was like "oh well, pretty cool stuff here!" but when a couple of months ago i'v come to know that Tapas had a forum community as well....i threw myself in, and now i'm trying to be rather active here and ask many questions to the other members, since most of the are so knowledgeble! (i know nothing about devolopping a plot lol)

If you are wondering where is the comic i was working on last summer: my PC stopped working all of a sudden and when it came back to life i lost all my data, the plot of the story and the pages :DDDD
(and no, i didn't have a backup xD) pretty tragic indeed, but i'm working on a new story now!
(........yeah, let's do another backup just in case.)

I began around February this year. I definitely started out lost haha! It was supposed to be just a simple redraw about some characters I drew as a child and then I decided to put a little bit of dialog into it and then bam! I had a very short comic. I posted it on IG and received very good response so I decided to upload and continue it on Tapas (and webtoons as well). It wasn't until a number of episodes later when I decided to flesh out the characters and story a bit more.

I guess my goal would be to to be able to tell the story in a funny way until the end, so yeah, still working on that

I first got my Tapas account in Dec 2015- I had been planning to make my webcomic and was in the last phases of creating/designing characters, and figuring out how & where I wanted the story to go. I sat for another 5 months, writing the story for Ch 1 and getting enough pages done to create a sizeable buffer; I then launched the comic following a convention I had attended around the Memorial Day holidays...

The first couple of months was slow- I had to push myself to promo my comic more frequently than I had, and only then the views/likes/subs started to flow. Year 2 was a little tougher on me, because I had gotten sick after a last convention in 2016, and my body didnt quite recover as well as I thought it would. But I finally made it, deciding to take a "little than longer" break to give me time to rest mentally as well as physically.

My goals havent been achieved yet- but I'm on my way. My online audience is slowly building, but I've also been printing the series into book form to sell at conventions and sales have been fairly good. I'm in year 3 now, and I hope that this will be the year I can elevate out of "the basement" and gain more readers. I know where I want to go as far as plans go; just need [a lot] luck on my side.

My husband was actually the one who found Tapas about last September, I just kinda followed in his footsteps. I thought it would be something to motivate me to write. At first it failed miserably because I became so absorbed in the stats page that I thought I was an epic failure so I didn't write for a solid 4 months but I still wanted to write. So I decided to quit basing my value on the stats page and focused strictly on growing as a writer and getting involved with the community

And here I am

I just started posting my first ever comic here about 2 months ago because this place seemed a lot awesomer than Smackjeeves and it is!!

Btw link to comic if you are interested

I started out on Fanfiction.net, and eventually moved to other writing websites. After dealing with Wattpad people, I moved here. I'm only here so my readers can finish reading one of my stories. Once I'm done posting it, I'll see where I go from there.
