@luminosityyy definitely has it right with #2 and #4. Have the best cover you can, then simply be patient. Consider how many other comics and novels are on this site vying for attention. It will take some time to get noticed. Just keep at it.
@jwabeasley also is giving good advice in posting links to your story. The easier it is to get to your story from the forums, the more people will make their way to it.
Here are also a couple of other things I'd recommend:
Set a regular update schedule and stick to it with ironclad faithfulness. Having a specific release day and time is good too. At the absolutely very minimum, post once every two weeks. Once a week is much better and a nice middle ground. 3 times a week is ideal, but can be a rough ask unless you are a disciplined writer or have a lot made in advance.
Go check out other artists comics and stories! Look for some here on the forum and then comment that you're going to check it out. And make sure you actually do read them. Give their work likes and positive comments.
Be sure to include several key word tags in your overall story description. Keep them simple and accurate. Every now and then the editors will pick key words and promote works with them. I got a huge boost the other day when they promoted works with the 'witch' tag.
And once again, patience!
It has taken me almost four months to build up to 1500 views, 40 likes, and 30 subscribers. Granted, I could probably do more promotion, but this is just a side thing for me. It's taken time.
