How do people make their panels so high quality with the small width?

I use procreate and a 940 width isn’t much for me to work with lol… I’m just wondering if you guys have a way to make images more high quality? Like a website or a program or something

Sorry if this question is odd or getting in the way, I’m just curious cause my panels look really pixelated and I need to find a way to fix it

When I create my artwork, I don't just work with a 940px-wide file. I draw at a larger size first, then reduce it before uploading to TAPAS.

I also work in procreate. I used to draw my pages at 920x2790, but my text/linework looked too pixelated, so I changed my resolution to 1817x5484, then just lower the resolution by 50% through imageresizer.com before uploading to Tapas.

Also make sure your DPI is at least 300.

Unless you plan to print your comic as a physical book in the future, the DPI doesn't really matter.

I work 5 times larger and reduce before uploading. And @wolflu66 is right, dpi is a print term, zero bearing on digital.

I recommend watching this video when you want to want to understand the dpi / ppi thing
and how working in a larger scale can make sense. Spoiler, in the end of the video the
guy explains what you have to consider when working on something which will be
displayed on a phone screen + his advice is to just try out what works best for you.

I think it makes sense to understand this because it can be confusing

Hi, fellow procreate user! In my experience, just draw on a bigger canvas, then copy and shrink it and upload that version. I believe there was a website that did that for you, but I don’t even know if it’s still around.

I use ibis paint.

Work at 1536 x 2048 then resize to 800 x 1067 for my panels I do a phone scrolling comic. Best I can do so my tablet won't lag.

I create my comics by hand, but the full size digital resolution I work in is over 5k wide. Draw it big and then make a scaled down version for posting online!

If you ever want to print, you're going to want a much larger resolution anyway.

My images are often 5k-10k pixels wide. I reduce them for Tapas (though I always keep the originals uncompressed and in raw format with layers intact). Whenever I post one of them in this forum I use the reduced version as well.
