How do Tapastic Cartoonists get in the Spotlight?

Whenever I go to log into my Tapastic account, I see one of the many Tapastic cartoons in the spotlight, right there on the front page. The rotation here seems to be a couple of days, allowing many artists to have their time in the limelight. I'm just wondering how one goes bout getting their work spotlighted? I'm still very new to Tapastic, so maybe I haven't done enough exploring, but I'd really love to see my cartoon get spotlighted once! Do you need to reach a specific number of subscribers before you have the chance? I'm just wondering.

You don't have to have to have a specific number of subs (many comics with thousands of subs have not been in the spotlight not even once!). I think it comes down to art and story. You know what they say about first impressions.

Like I would love to be spotlighted with either of my comics Wait...What or Letters Across The Hall-BL- as well but I don't feel like my art is up to snuff rn , I think for now what we as creators have to do is create and maybe on day we will be noticed by senpai Tapas staff

Yeah, as far as I know it's just a matter of Tapastic choosing your comic to be spotlighted and contacting you if they want to feature you. I don't think there's any specifications you have to meet, other than creating a comic that is so good (in whatever way it is good) that Tapastic thinks you would be a good advertisement for them.

Because I mean, the front page isn't just about getting exposure for the comics that are featured -- it also means that anyone who's new to Tapastic sees that comic first thing as an example of the kind of content Tapastic offers. Tapas staff is gonna want to pick works that are really representative of the kind of website they want this to be!

I got picked in December as a spotlight and my experience was a private message posted to my wall asking me to produce a banner. I don't think there's anything you can do to make it there, except make the best comic you can! I barely had a clue when I got it, and definitely wasn't even imagining getting my comic up there - I think just concentrate on making your comic, and if Tapastic likes your work, it'll promote it!
