This is a logo I made for one of my series:

I used a free font and modified it in Illustrator, the top of "T" is larger to represent the floor, the stairs below "into" (there are 4 characters who will go downstairs) leads you to "the unknown" text which I used an eye to represent it (quite cliché, I know hehe)

It tells a story behind and I love it lol

spire's logo is supposed to kinda resemble a star map and kinda bring to mind the gear and fang motifs to match the theme and setting of the comic

sundown's logo is meant to resemble vintage florida/miami t-shirt graphic designs that use those retro gaudy colors and gradients

@kainatarma
I suppose this can work depending on the theme of the story

I need something more dream-like and mysterious think :thinking:

@fleohr
Yeah I need something similar where it tells a subtle story I never realized how hard it is until I actually hunkered down and tried to think about it.

@Kura
I would want to do it myself though if I'm drawing the rest of the comic myself anyway

@stnmaren
Hey I actually like that Spire logo :+1: The Sundown one gives me outrun vibes1 so yeah :laughing:

I think looking for logo design of established works with similar vibe or theme with yours can help :slight_smile: Or you can Google some variations of font theme (e.g. "Whimsical fonts"). Then you can study and amalgamate various examples and make your own.

In my case, I just randomly thought of it. No intricate planning, no hidden meanings (I'm so shallow, roast me), no inspiration from other works either (because I don't even know what works to be inspired from).

That's actually a good point! I'mma start lurking similar works :smiling_imp:

Try writting down many combinations of titles you can and draw something related to your comic on it

And take your time, you'll find inspiration soon

When making a logo, I think the number one rule should be is it clearly legible?

For mine, I wanted something elegant but nothing super fancy. I thought about just using a font but in the end I chose my own hand writing. I designed this about a year or so ago and the only thing that I think needs to be improved on is the "f".

Hope this helped!

My logo was the very first thing I designed when I started my comic, and I used it as a style base when I started doing panels. I use procreate to do all the artwork and it currently doesn't have a text function so I decided to do all my text by hand. I think it actually works best with my style as it has a more organic look.

I think it should be an important part of your planning as it an important part of the branding for the comic!

Ahaha I mostly just winged it, hence why the letter thicknesses aren't quite consistent :sweat_smile: It's a similar font that I've used for a comic title I did years ago, but it's just hand drawn (well, mouse drawn).

I already have a title, I just need to come up with how to present it properly :laughing:

Also, you all have such sleek logos :open_mouth:

Well.... first I had a title planned but then it turned out another webtoon already had it. Then husband and I started debating over the title more and once we decided on "Hue Are You" we decided to follow the eye's natural tendency to follow steps. The colors change as colors are introduced into the comic.

How did I come up with logo? Well, I didn't :sweat_smile:
The art of making cool logos and thumbnails always was a mystery for me... :thinking::thinking::thinking:
So I'm still just writing the name of the comics as a text and using the fragment of it as a thumbnail :sweat_smile:

Free fonts all the way for me. I wanted something fantasy looking but legible and I wanted something vaguely Arabic inspired.

Then after days of searching I finally found the Aladin font, which was free. I fooled around with placement and design until I finally found something I liked.

And that’s about it really. Then again it took me forever to settle on a title I liked.

I drew the silhouette for the castle and tweaked a paid font for the title:
5

I actually have several variations of this logo with different silhouettes instead of the castle (trees, the ruined chapel, a row of houses) which I use at the head of different episodes, depending on the location of the episode. I don't know if my readers have noticed, but it's fun for me. :slight_smile:
