How do you feel about other forms of fanwork on your stories?

Not just fanart or fanfics (though feel free to share your feelings on recieving those too)
but what about comic fandubs? comic music videos? (comic AMVs?)
I'm especially curious how people feel about music videos made on their comics lol. (i've gotten a few vines on mine and i've done a few for friends webcomics too :V )
let's throw in fan characters cause they kinda count too, I think.

Just what do you guys think about these other forms of fanwork on webcomics, whether you've gotten these on your own webcomic or your general feelings on them.

I don't think we'd mind, as long as people who made it didn't act like we owed them by making what they made part of the lore. We are pretty clear we are cool with any ships- but we already decided all ships and major plot points and lore. But we do enjoy watching people guess and create and be inspired.

As long as they're being respectful and not forcing it I see no problem, accuracy is always preferred but I'm not picky as getting fan love is something really great that will overcame little inaccuracies and stuffs.

The instant you put your stuff online, you have to be open to people making fanworks of it. Maybe some of it will get strange if not awkward, but at the end of the day, even the most "abstract" pieces were made with love. Heck, I am even aware that some people ship even though I established who's with who and what will never happen. And that's ok. As long as they don't tell me how to write or insist that I change things just for them, it's all good. The only thing I hope from my readers is that they like my work or at least give it a chance.

I'm always thankful for fanworks, but...

...I can't do videos. Nothing with audio. If I don't like someone's fan art, I can just stop looking at it, but if I don't like someone's voice acting, TOO BAD, because it's going to be stuck in my head for weeks or even months, and the memory will be refreshed every time I look at my own characters...

...Of course, there's always the chance that I might like it. But I'm too scared to take that chance. ^^' I hope I don't sound like a jerk; that's just the way I am.

Walk a mile in my brain; it's not a stretch at all. If a memory makes me uncomfortable enough, I'll be fighting it off for years. Even if it's something insignificant and stupid. >_<

honestly if I'd gotten any of those I'd be really happy about it, no matter what form it is. I don't think that would ever happen though

I would probably be pretty happy to see fanworks of my stories, with some exceptions.

Like, I wouldn't be happy if people were making money off the fanworks they were making. Or if they were being disrespectful/actually trying to force the actual canon story to go a certain way.

I'm only aware of fan art of my comic that's out there. I honestly love it as long as they don't take credit of my design or comic. If they took the time to do artwork that was inspired by my comic, I'll take it as a compliment. It would mean that they like it enough to do their own version of my characters.
I don't personally care if they ship my characters with another. It's always interesting to see where they think the story might lead.

I was incredibly honored when my characters appeared in a follower's comic. It was out of the blue and I didn't even ask them to, but it was an amazing surprise and I loved it so much!

I suppose what I do at:

Can be considered fanworks since I go through both characters comics/novels collecting and comparing feats and abilities and writing a little fight story. The people whose characters I use have been satisfied barring an exception, so it seems people are generally cool with fanworks so long as you ask first.

Speaking of which, if anyone's interested in having their character fight just say so. Our gates stay open for as long as we shill, which is to say forever!
