How do you guys make a logo for your covers?

Pretty simple one this time. How do you guys make logos for the covers of your comic? I took a bit of a class on designing logos and fonts and such, but I wasn't very good at it. But how do guys do it for yours? Do you make them in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop or something like that? Or do you just skip part that and draw them straight on the cover? Is there a website I could learn some quick tips about this on(nothing to intricate please)? Which way have you found works best for you? I know a few terms about fonts and logos, like kerning and leading, but aside from that I'm pretty clueless.

For my Ray Thunder webcomic, I just used 2 fonts that I wanted(and bought) to create the logo- did it in Illustrator. The electric looking font is called Kill Switch- from Comicraft. The bottom font is called Susurrus- from Blambot; both these fonts I felt were perfect for the title logo.

I have a print comic called The Clique- the logo for that comic I traced it out based off a first draft that friend of mine helped me come up with; I added some changes here & there, then scanned it into the computer and created the final draft in Illustrator.

I have thought over the logo for Stormspectrum for over a year before I decided on this one.
I had used different fonts and drew some things with pointy lettres but nothing worked. I was rereading some pages and I came by the page were Skipper the main character first transforms into Stormspectrum wich involved white glowing lines and a whole bunch of colours, but I figured out that could make for a fun logo, so I drew it out in Paint tool Sai(be aware if you in the future want to print your logo on big banners and such use either Illustrator for vector logo's or Clip studio paint or Photoshop for digitally drawn logo's)

And for Typhoomerang the spin off comic of Stormspectrum I wanted something similar but also a bit different to tell the two apart. Typhoomerang has the ability to manipulate air streams and therefor I made his logo to be more out of air streams and more colors like grey blue green and browns the colors that ar most prominent in the comic itself. I added a 2 in the O as in his outfit there is a 2 too and there you go, this one was drawn in Clip studio paint.

I love making logos!
I made the logo of Vulperra from stratch. Started thumbnailing the drew a sktech in Clip Studio Paint. When I was pleased with the sketch, I did the final version in Illustrator and added the colours.

My husband is a graphic designer so he makes them for me. lol
We kind of talk about what I want then he makes something he thinks would work for the comic.

Interesting with Neon Glow, I wanted to call the comic, Neon Hunters. When he was making the logo he didn't like how long Hunters was paired with Neon. He suggested Neon Glow, for balance and I was like, "THAT'S MUCH COOLER!!!!!!"
This old cover shows the first version of the logo:

It was later updated because the NEON part didn't stand out well on small banners so he updated it and gave it a digital glitch to it. I don't remember why the glitch was added but it's cool and I like cool. lol

For my comics that are not yet out:

The StarShip 77 logo was him playing around.

Alkseeya Power, I was a bit picky. This comic had been in my mind forever and I always drew the logo my own hand drawn font. I loved it and wanted to use it, But it looked like CRAP. lol So he use the same way I drew one of the letters and created something inspired by the Outlaw Star logo and some metal bands. AP is big because I was going to just use AP on some things because the title is so long. Even just call the comic AP for short.

I think a lot about the thing I'm making the logo for. For example: The Vulperra logo has a lot of imperfections (like the holes on the R's, uneven outlines) which kinda represent my drawing style. You could also say it's represent all the different characters in my comic, since all of them are far from perfect. I also tried to make the logo look fun, fantasy-ish and a little old. Fun looking, because Vulperra is (hopefully) a fun comic. Fantasy, because it is a fantasy comic. Little old, because Vulperra is the name of the world in my comic, and the wold in my comic is old. It's been there way longer than any of the foxes in my comic.

I should have written this when I made the first post, but I kinda suck at writing on forums. Hopefully it will give you some insight on how I think when making logo.

what i did is that i drew out my logo design for me and my sisters webcomic Maximum Chaos and fixed it on Photoshop to go along my drawn cover image, and added text to it. nothing too fancy or crazy!

I used Adobe Illustrator and some Blambot.com fonts,
I think that's the way most professionals do it, but I might be wrong.
