How do you like the male/female lead to look like?

I see so many black hair male leads but I actually love when the male lead turns out to have red or white hair.

I created him for fun based on one of my characters that was intended to have red eyes and white hair but I got ahead of myself 🤣 Anyways, I also love when the red head actually turns out to not be the villain either. 🤣

You have to remember most of the comics you see on Tapas are korean based, which everyone basically has black hair. This make most of them look alike.

I realize that but I wasn’t just talking about those lol it’s in a lot of novels as well that aren’t Korean based. I don’t have anything against it; I read them no matter the hair color lol

I like them to look unique and eye catching. I'm not asking for them to be models, but I am most drawn to unique features that only the MC has such as their hairstyle, the shape of their face, special features or their clothes. Things like that.

I guess that is why I was drawn to Sailor Moon, Goku from Dragonball, Magic Knights Rayearth, Batman, Superman and more. No one else in their series looks like them. You can recognize them right away.

Ah, yes. Unique features really make the character more memorable! I always loved reading about an imperfect protagonist (by society’s standards) but they had their own charms.

I don't mind black hair. Most people in the world have black hair so it would make sense that there are a lot of characters with that hair color.

I don't really have a preference to what I want a MC to look like in media I seek out. As long as your artstyle isn't unpleasant like Big Mouth, I am open to reading or watching anything.

I don’t mind it either! It’s just a fun change of pace! I love reading/seeing different characteristics that make them unique just like different art styles. And my god, yeah, that is unpleasant lol but honestly, they could be completely normal looking with an extreme personality and I’d still love it lol

I grew up with music & sex comedy movies from the 1950s and I love everything
about the 1950s.

The good looking male characters wear suits and have slicked black hair.
The good looking female characters have curvy bodies and long, blonde hair.

Every character has to be exaggerated

I think part of this is that it’s more common for women to dye or bleach their hair than men.

There is also this romance trope of the man being darker while the woman being lighter.

You see it with white couples where it’s a burnet man and a blonde woman.

With black couples, the man has darker skin while the woman has lighter skin.

I know this trope can be harmful but it’s just a pattern that a lot of people have noticed in media.

Have always, will always have an obsession with white-haired/silver hair characters. The meaning behind why people choose white or silver hair for their MCs will always interest me. I particularly love this video and found it really helpful:

I’ve seen a couple but they’re not as popular I think I’m here just waiting for them both to be bold and sassy but their inner thoughts showing otherwise. Honestly if they’re not one dimensional I don’t care what personality they have. Complex characters for the win!
