It looks like some people are confused on how to pronounce my character's name. It seems so different, so...

If your character's name is normal, that's fine; but what if your character's name is so different, it's hard to pronounce?

As I posted below, last names are also allowed.

This response made my day.

My characters:
Reign: "rain"
Hawk: "hawk" like the bird
Wren: "ren" also like the bird
Zilck: "zil-ck" like its spelled
Laird: "lay-erd"

I feel like all my names are pretty straight forward.

I think mine are pretty easy... Shion is Shee-ohn. Senri is... Sen-ri.

Some of the alien names might be a bit weird.

Dietre is pronounced Dee-tray.
Latorre is La-tour
Ognjen is... well that's a bit harder https://forvo.com/word/ognjen/6
Mpenth is pronounced em-penth
Rztdreka is pronounced Rizt-dreh-kah
Oluzsti is Oh-luuz-stee
Sezdri is Sehz-dree
Zakril is Zah-kreel
Orcusian is pronounced like Or-cus-i-an (does not rhyme with Russian)

I think that's everything...

Jeepers, @Cavechan! "Ognjen" is so hard to find, I can't even find the pronunciation in the link you gave us! You're good. Maybe it's pronounced with a silent G?

Well, here are some weird names in my stories:

Bovizo: Baw - Vi - Zo
Xerksal: Zerk - Soul
Airis: Air - Iss

Huh. Your pronunciation for that name reminds me of an electronics company called Vizio.

This is a clever kind of thread

Some of mine have odd names:

Mysaphia: My-SAH-fee-ah
Tarow: TA-rah-ow
Saldry: Saul-dree
Enne: N (like the letter of the alphabet)

Most are obvious. Query, red, Blue, ect.

But Build-a is pronounced

Build- AH

Well, I'd like to know myself :joy:

I made all the names (people, places) of a whole region start by glottal stop + consonant, only to realize that I could not pronounce some of the names (glottal stop + N for example is almost impossible for me to say).
Good think I never speak about my comic vocally

Most of mine are pretty ordinary English-type names or words. Will, Adell, Isaac, Irene, so forth.

Only a few are a bit more historic:
Hydros and Noire

And then there's some that I'm sure my readers think I'm trolling them
Rhys, Lien, Arluin and Viau.

Rhys is kind of like "reese" but not? It's got that "h" sound so it's softer. Lien - read the story for the joke2 lol. Arluin "are-looooo-n" - the "in" sound at the end is soft, so it's truncated to "n". And Viau is highly pronounced as "veee-OW" mostly.

I always thought my names were straightforward, but I can imagine some being pronounced wrong.
Nyota: En-Yo-Ta
Nyct: Basically Nick with a T at the end; from Nyctophilia/Nyctophobia
Tempus: Tem-Pus(short U)
Vivace: Vee-Vah-Chey
Maly: Pronounced like the name Molly

I think one thing that can be hard to portray in pronunciations is stress. You might pronounce the vowels and consonants correctly, but the stress will be on the wrong syllable.

:grinning::shook_01: I see that this thread's getting popular despite the number of replies we've giving each other. So... :smug_01: I'm allowing last names (surnames) to the mix, too!

Mine are pretty simple though one could confuse some of them.
Elliot: el - ee- uht
Tyler: what, have you never met a tyler before?
Lara: lair - ra
Otar: Oh - tar
Ire: eye - er, like fire without the f
Urt: like "hurt" without the h
Ira: eye - ra
Inu: ee- new

I always want to drive a Nyota! (I'm just playing, don't take it too seriously).
Vivace sounds like a name who's got her's from a flower! I like it!

Like Moltar? From Space Ghost?

I had an older comic with a species of cats that had their own language so I ended up with an Ahzila Vlamean pronounced like
