this ones kind of interesting to read as a long time listener of those kinds of audios but it probably varies from person to person tho i know more folks seem to just operate within their own personal comfort levels in the same way listeners have the freedom to choose what audios they listen to based on personal preference so not always spicy but sometimes just narrative which are my preference honestly (hell the youtube audio community is still flourishing if not occasionally at odds regarding some things)
but i think it's kind of natural both to sometimes have that awkwardness, especially if new at the craft, when recording certain things but there's also the other aspect similar to artists where as comfort grows there's still that looking back at old stuff and going "damn that was kinda rough/could've been better" but it's also where they started versus wherever they may be now. some folks are very comfy with it and dont mind the work and then there's folks who maybe aren't and sometimes just do it less or not at all and there's no rules on only following submitted scripts either since there's plenty of folks writing their own content.
like i'm a longtime yuurivoice listener, back from the yuri on ice days which evolved into a tremendous amount of cool original stuff but still occasionally dives into characters he enjoys, and seeing his journey has been an interesting one but i've also explored works from folks like redacted audio, mage bunkshelf, obsidian lantern, or other folks ive listened to a bit less frequently like extrovert ed, will o' the wisp, greenbriar and other folks i've stumbled on just searching around
i dunno if it's something i could get into myself tho i do yearn to expand my options for narrative storytelling but like so long as i'm alive there's always plenty of options when it comes to art and way to create and share things and not just to turn a profit but also like for the love of the game because i'm honestly still that way (or at least try to be)
