I think there's a little potential for public wall posts to be awkward so although I don't personally mind receiving them I've decided not to post them. Edit: and hey if you're very optimistic, it's not a thing that you can really do at scale :wink:

Hmmm well in the past I did use to post them myself to thank new subs. However I kinda stopped doing them since I felt it was a bit intruding to other people's walls (and also because I kept forgetting it lmao). It is basically advertising your content on their wall one way or another

Yea, I also used to do this but felt it was intrusive. Sometimes I would look to see if they had other "Thank you" notes on their wall and then I will post mine. If they have nothing on their wall, I don’t post. I think @joannekwan suggestion is great! Will do a thank you note in my series for hitting a new milestone....250+ subscribers!

If someone leaves me a message I appreciate it, if they don't that is equally fine. It's just a wall post, and if for some reason it feels like such a big deal, there is also the option to leave it private so no one else can see it :information_desk_person:

@migxmeg

Thank you for helping a newbie out!! The @ thing is super useful.

I don't plan on doing anything at scale, I consider myself a realist :smug_01:!

@joannekwan

Oh that's very clever. Now I need to pick which episode to put it in :blep:

@DualDragons

I wasn't sure why I felt reluctant but you hit the nail on the head; I didn't want to look like I'm shamelessly promoting when I'm genuinely grateful.

@officialgenesis

Congratulations on passing 250! You're also almost at 1000 likes :heart_02:

That's a good idea on scoping out their walls too :laughing:

@Azifri

I didn't know that there was an option to keep it private. I'm terrible at paying attention to settings and rules. Thank you for your opinion!! I'm glad that you appreciate stuff like that :coffee_love:

I like getting them, and I think sending them is a nice gesture. Something to show appreciation to readers.

Though if there were any way to send private messages outside of the forum, I'd consider it.

@kitschensyngk

Your comment gives me hope :coffee_love:

I really just want an excuse to pay my artist to draw a cute group picture :laughing:! I don't like commissioning art and then not showing it off to the world!

Well in the beginning it was fun. But after 1000 subs it became a full timejob to keep up with all the thank you so I stoped.

I just do it, but it's probably because I don't have many and I only do it for completely new subscribers and that can just be a few times a month, not so much for repeat, there is the PM option too. If it gets bigger, I might just drop it entirely if I can't keep up.

I don't mind them, but I've never bothered with them personally since most people won't see them and they just seem like they'd be a nightmare to deal with when getting featured and picking up 50+ new readers in a day.

Getting one wouldn't make me more or less likely to unsubscribe from a series, but some of them are really nicely drawn or fun, so my general feeling is they're cute and harmless for the most part. Though maybe my opinion would be different if I was in the closet with a conservative family and didn't want all the gay comics I'm reading splashed all over my wall! :sweat_02:

It has the same energy as "Thank you for the fav" comments on DeviantART.

I write them on my subscribers walls, but my novel isn't anything that you would be embarrassed about ( this isn't meant to be jab at anyone but i know that some people like to have "spicy" things hidden), but i think that you can delete stuff from your own wall (also if you sub to me but don't want thank you message, let me know in PM)
I do it since i have less than 100 subs and i want to thank everyone that subs <3

I stopped doing it cuz each time i did it, I lost a subscriber, i dunno if its a glitch or something cuz its never the new sub that unsubscribes

I'm too lazy for that. Did it a couple of times and stopped. And I like my wall free so I can post my own art. (Also apart of the reason I stopped posting on other people's walls.) Usually people just thank me in PMs now which is cool! I'm happy they're happy to have another reader lol. :smiley:

I used to do it, before I realized that pretty much only other creators were seeing them, because that's mostly who uses the website, and there are no walls on the app.

The thing that really made me stop doing it, though, was when I posted one to another creator's wall, and they responded, "please subscribe to my comic". I don't do sub for sub, and I found this very presumptuous. I didn't sub back, and, unsurprisingly, they unsubbed from my series shortly after. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.
