How does everyone find Newgrounds these days?

Hi All

We have noticed a bit of a difference with Newgrounds lately. It seems to be quite a bit more difficult to get art "voted" to be shown on the website, whereas before we would fairly routinely have art shown. Not sure what might be the cause - maybe a drop in visitors to the site? Or maybe our art just isn't what it used to be! (although nothing much has changed in our style, so probably not). We used to really enjoy the website, now not so much.

It just seems to be so much harder to even have the art included in the main art part, and just wondered others' thoughts and experience.

...Newgrounds still exists? I literally haven't even thought about that website in years. I'd assume it's a drop in size of the userbase, because I was a teenager at the height of Newgrounds' popularity and I'm in my mid thirties, so.... I can't imagine a lot of Tiktok zoomers thinking it's cool.

newgrounds is alright, I've been getting decent traction there and I don't really post frequently, I'm sure if I posted more often it'd be better.
but most people are interested in games and animation and completely disregard the art portal and the art has to be REALLY good for it to get any attention.
I'd recommend going to their art forums, the same way this site works with networking talk to other artists and maybe some will be interested.

Literally the only thing I use Newgrounds for anymore is royalty-free music and sound effects for animatics and stuff. I don't even know what else they do anymore!!

I never went to Newgrounds ever. I just visited it for the first time.
I didn't know there was art on it too.

Most of the knowledge of the site comes from way back in the day. I think back then, everything was more niche and most of the humor tended to be more South Park like. And I think people were OK with everything being more rough looking, if you could get the laugh or wow someone.

It could be that now a days, the bar for art has been set higher for art and people expect more professional looking stuff.

That is just my theory.

Tho I was never really that into the site. I preferred the games over the animation.Yet I ended up using Addicting Games and Armor Games more.

Yeah I pretty much only remember Newgrounds for all the flash animation games and videos back in the early 00s.

Wait, how is Newgrounds still around I thought flash died??? Did they do more than flash games this entire time? I haven't been there since High School science class when we'd secretly play games on the computers when the teacher wasn't looking.

I feel like the Tiktok zoomers are having a big 00's revival. At least of the clothes and music. Maybe they spread it to Newgrounds, too? Is it the time again...for flash?

It's the last bastion of weird internet content and we should convince all the zoomers that Newgrounds is actually cool after all. This is the only way to make the internet heal from its current social media state. Badgers and flash games and video game remix music.
