How does reaching audiences work on tapas?

I'm a webtoon kinda guy but I still every once in a while publish something on tapas, I recently got back into drawing and decided to resume my webcomic series, i then decided to take This opportunity and use my motivation of taking this seriously so I published my webcomic with 2 episodes on tapas, and its gotten absolutely 0 views, like on webtoon from my experience yes not everything goes viral but damn like atlease a couple hundred views, not even 10, not even 1 single person saw my series? I'm just curious to know if for example I didn't add correct tags, or is Tapas a bad place to post when your pretty much unknown on the app? I'm interested to see your thoughts

You can't just post stuff and expect the algorithm to do all the work for you (which is true for most websites), but I think Tapas in particular has some anti-spam filters that hide brand new series from the majority of users, meaning you'll need to get a few subs through self-promotion before you have the chance of getting picked up by the algorithm.

I kinda on the same boat as you but once I started to work on my webcomic for myself than others, things changed.

First off, if you're gonna use the tapas forums, I think you should put the link to the tapas version of your webcom in your BIO, or both.

Secondly, appeal works. A nice profile pic and a name can go a long way. This seems important for people for some reason.

Third, promote and be nice. Everyone is gonna promote but "being nice" is very marketable.

Yeah I guessed that, in webtoon is you just post it pop ups on the top of the canvas page and then if your lucky the people who click on it end up subcrribing. Thank you for the help
