Well, my graphic novel is the first of my paintings. So I'm having to learn to work with acrylics and limited supplies on a fixed income, while other artists praise high end supplies.
Each piece is a challenge to find decent references that aren't pieces of art, because my piece is set after Alexander the Great and prior to the Ottoman Empire. Most photos aren't reenactments of villages or what have you. Though sometimes you get lucky and a town looks more primitive than say a modern city. And there are loads of reenactors for some ancient peoples. Although, there seem to be no people dressing up like ancient Egyptians so there's that.
I've never made a work for publication, and I have hopes of publishing my work. So things like lettering and boxing is um, difficult. a fan is redoing the lettering.
Also, I don't have the manuscript, it's 11 years old today, and I am working on a memory that is less than perfect.
So I will put off linking the work, until the lettering is fixed.
