How easy is it to make friends on Tapas?

Heyoo! my name’s nadis and iiiii have never been active on the forums until today HHHA

i’m looking to make some friends here do as to make my experience in the community even better. i’m also in the vocalsynth community, and the way we make friends there is via Discord, soundcloud, and twitter. if you drop any advice here i will surely appreciate it!

I think the best way to get involved and make new friends is to just post (whether that's making your own topics or responding to others). Just engage with the conversations, offer any advice you have from your own experiences and check out people's work (and vice versa~)

It's also good to mention that you are highly encouraged to post some sneak peeks, WIPS, sketches, recent pages here.

Just gotta go so in the right topics and not in a spamming way.

We've had some people who'd spam their comics over and over and not really engage in the conversations? Like, every other thing they'd say would lead back to their comic. Which is nice! It's awesome to be excited for your work, but also be excited for other people's work as well~

But that's mostly it. A lot of the people here are real nice, and I think you'll like it here! Glad to have you on board~

thank you for the warm welcome! i understand the spamming thing because in the other community i am involved in people will spam their own song covers and it is equally as... well frustrating. thank you very much for the advice!

Meeting through the forums usually lets me get to know a lot of people... We just end up in the same thread and before you know it we're replying to each other and even subbing to and stanning each other's comics lol

People are pretty decent here. You won't find any hostility unless you're purposely mean or insulting. I won't pretend there aren't the odd rude people or cold self-promoters but those people are usually dealt with by mods, and it's very easy to get in touch with a mod to sort out any issues.

So long as you are kind and honest, people are gonna like you here.

id say its pretty easy to make friends on tapas. aside from being involved in the forums, theres a few discord groups going around as well.

engage meaningfully with people - comment on comics you like, respond to questions and contribute to forum topics - and youll soon be well known and well liked.
