How far would you? i mean i have this idea about a stalker and i thought maybe i should stalk som epeople to see how it feels, i don't know maybe i'm a psychopath or something haha , do you think it's ok? , i mean i won't hurt them or anything or record them or do anything except follow them to their homes , but now that i think about it feels like a waste of time...but my question still is , **how far would you go, to write a comic

EDIT:Ahahhahahaahah jesus , you took it so serius, i think people nowadays have lost it, everyone has a psychological problem of some kind ,everyone is damaged, look around you , this is all caused because we do things without thinking and believeME! i always think before i act, so don't take it so serius what i said , i just wanted to see how far someone will go for his art , plus when an famous actor crosses the line for a role you are all like WOW he is so commited and stuff like that . THIS WAS A JOKE!!! so relax .

They would possibly call the police, talk to you or hit you

I would only search for videos, photos, books, and articles for references, but try to do something just to know how it feels like, depends on what lol

yeah i know, but human beings tend to want to expirience for themselves things , like when you dad says to you don't do that it will turn bad to your life but still you want to see for yourself and i think that's a good think to experience stuff...i don't maybe i'm wrong here , but thanks for the reply!

You don`t need to stalk people to write a stalker in the same way you dont need to murder people to write a murderer. Stalkers are not in the right state of mind. Obsessing over someone is unhealthy and harmful. Stalkers are unsettling because they are people who are adicted to a certain person/group of people. If you want helpful info to write stalkers is better to learn some psychology and learn info about stalking and obsesive behavior.

I agree with fleohr, is better to research about it.
If you like acting, you could maybe act the character in front of a mirror to have some idea about their behavior.

XD HAHAHA BRUH THATS HILARIOUS! U DEDICATED!! Just chill mane, writing a stalkers story shouldnt be to hard. U got a guy with to much time on his hands and some poor bastard that doesnt know how to deal with him. Watching some documentaries on it, should give to a pretty good idea. Whatever u do, dont try following anyone. U might get maced or shot XD be careful out here!

idk if ur joking but like. dont do that. theres a lot you can read and watch to get an understanding of the psychology of stalking, but actual stalking is a really traumatising thing to experience, and could get you in a lot of trouble

in terms of getting experience... 1000 miles? id travel for reference images and studies, and to interview people for intel if i have the opportunity.

however, i tend to build my stories from what i know i have access to already (from my own experience, locale, or the innanet)

Even for method acting, that would be way to far. You'll honestly learn more about stalkers and how how they think from research. It's an extremely psychological situation.

I think this shows how much you don't understand stalking. Following someone home is not harmless. You absolutely would be doing harm. They don't know you're pretending. I'm glad/I know you said you won't already, but I gotta say, if there's a line, that's crossing it. Research and use your imagination. :no_entry_sign:

Research. Maybe take a class. I focus on the stuff that interests me! :yum:

Like most other people have said, research will not only be less harmful but also teach you more about the subject at hand. Read up on the topic, maybe read about some stalker cases.
If reading isn't your thing for whatever reason (I have adhd that makes reading articles and books difficult for me so I know this struggle), you can listen to documentaries about stalker and murder cases, you can listen to youtube reads on it... hell, think what you will of Dr Phil but the guests of the show are real people and some of said guests have been psychopaths and stalkers. Hearing the way they themselves reason or try to manipulate the people around them live can teach you a lot about depicting them in a realistic manner (and spotting them in your own life).

I googled a lot of stuff on abortion, miscarriage, and Asian curses/superstitions to the point that my search history is filled with bloody medical pictures of dead fetuses. However, my tolerance for gore and horror levelled up.

Honestly? Not that far.

Making a comic is not that important enough to me to risk getting arrested.

Researching documentaries, cases, tv shows based on real events, and the likes are more than enough. You can also research the data behind the conditions, behavior, and reasoning behind those actions.

The parts you don't get can be left up to filter along the way because each experience is different (even two psychopaths aren't alike, and I personally just write based on that research and that common knowledge).

Again, like most people said -- joking or not, never consider taking it to "THAT" level. It ain't that serious, fam, and it could definitely scare someone

i went back to the hotel the airship in my comic was based off mostly to get reference pics, it was with my family but i drove myself about 2 hours there. i also like going to disney world for reference pics because the architecture and set planning there is really nice and they have a good variety of environments across the four parks (and disney springs).

not sure if youre joking about stalking to sound cool but like dont actually do that it can cause trauma for the victims.

This.

Plus you can also watch various interviews with victims to learn triggers and patterns in the mind of a stalker. When people think of stalking they think of some creeper dude with an unhealthy love interest. There's so many other forms though. I was cyber stalked for 4 years by a random crazy who didn't like that I was one of the pillars in my community at the time. She wanted to have the ability to criticize people's artwork for the most inane things but also be shielded from the same criticisms (her own work easily fell into massive hypocrite territory) and be held as a shining example of finest achievements by the community I was in. I didn't let it happen, as did some others, and she went on a 4 year long campaign of writing ED article about me, trying to find my real name and location, constant attempts to rally other art communities against me as a "cyber bully" who hilariously time and time again could not give less of a shit. I think it was also triggered by a critique we collectively gave her when she submitted some work anonymously for feedback. She did not like hearing she wasn't perfect. In her mind, everyone else was always the problem. It was a textbook case of narcissism if I ever saw one.

Dude that sounds so low, did the ED article actually got made because with the behavior that was described right here, it seems more appropriate for her to have an ED article she would fit right at home there.

How far would I go to write a comic?
To my computer:/

The Internet has all you need

I'd go all the way to the internet and do my research rather than committing real life crimes and using art as an excuse for it lol...

I write about serial killers, sexually predatory characters and gangsters but that doesn't mean I'm out there dealing drugs and hurting people just for writing material.

Research things, dangit.
