How has currents event affect your art and art production?

So, with the current pandemic I just wanted to check in to see if everyone is doing good. And how is it going?
I found that this pandemic makes it hard to get supplies to make work. I wanted to order some deleter comic book paper, but shipping was averaging around $35-50 which is insane. I'm not sure how I am going to be able to post more pages now. Do you think it would be jarring to see an art style change if I were to switch fully to digital.

you can compare the drawing styles to the banner and the pages. Do you think it would make the much of a difference?

It has definitely made getting supplies harder. I had to put a pause on a cosplay commission because I was having issues getting in the necessary fabric. But because my comic has switched to full digital now, the comic making process itself has not been impeded. With my reduced hours at my essential day job, I'm also finding more time to work on it.

I mainly do digital art, so I can't completely relate, but I understand where you're coming from with being unable to get a hold on some supplies. In my case, I've had more time to work on some projects that I've been putting off because I don't have much else to do. As for the art style change, I don't think it would make THAT much of a difference, unless you're not used to doing digital art. Even if that's the case, it should get better over time.

I do everything digital, tho sketches are done on paper and scanned to my tablet. I'd say it is pretty insane with how getting traditional materials is stressful.. since some of our art supply stores are closed though I think they're opening up possibly but just only for pickup. Though it be nice to supply, I'll have to make due with what I have.

Tbh the quarantine has stressed me a bit financially in the beginning since I'm a self employed worker with my boss, we do local art classes in our city but we had to shut down. It took us about a few weeks to get on our feet and do zoom online. We're pretty lucky our students still reach out to us for fun art lessons and honestly happy to see them again. It may not be physically in person but just seeing the faces, hearing their silly jokes and stuff helps me through the days. I'm grateful to still work but being an empathetic person, feel bad for other artists who do cons and other events :x or even commissions too. We all owe in taxes due to being self employed and given with what income we have. We'll need to save up to pay them off before the extended deadline.

Personally aside from the monotony of being stuck at home my comic TLC has been done on photoshop since the start so I've actually gone from posting bi-weekly to weekly simply because I have more time to work on it without being on my clinical rotation for nursing (Its a liability to have students) so yay for that

as for your comic making it clear that the art style change is a temporary thing would be a good idea if you decide to switch to full digital, and ask for feedback along the way cause if your readers end up liking it better maybe thats what you should stick to

I would say the current events have more so helped me than affected me in a negative way; I dont have to stress about convention shows and having to make art deadlines for them, so it gives me more time to work on stuff in a better mindset. It sucks that I cant get stuff printed, but I can save up pennies til next year and get that done...lately I've been going through standalone projects, getting them finished- prints, other art & merch plans; so if things are better and I resume doing cons next year I'll be ready.

I have a few more single projects to finish, then I'm hopping back onto the webcomic...I may also be able to get the next chapter written by the end of the year as well as start plotting & organizing stuff to script a possible Patreon comic series I want to start working on by the end of 2021; I've been working digitally since 2016, so no issues with production on that front...I just need to get better doing art on my iPad- I'm used to doing stuff on it, but I feel my art doesnt look as nice as when working on the Wacom/laptop.

I think once I get some financial obligations taken care of, as well as figure out my moving plans then I'll have a better idea when I can start trying to build my site. I want to get it together so that I can start selling my comics & other merch through the site store(as well as having a secure spot to start posting my webcomics should things take a turn); I'm still iffy on commissions coz I'm not confident in that arena(yet).

I use mostly digital medium for my artwork so my production hasn't really been phased much in that department. I have been creating a lot more work during these times. I have a bit more free time so I've been able to pump out a lot more work than usual, as well as put more time in to my comic pages.

I do mostly digital art like some others on here so my art hasn't been affected that much - that said, every art event, book fair and comic convention that I was going to attend this year has been cancelled. In a lot of cases I already paid for the merch printing that I was planning to sell and for the table costs (which haven't been refunded for several events)... so financially, it has def affected me and my art
