Okay I see. I did think it was unusual that there were two new webcomics (i think they were "Acception" and "Fox Fires") on the front page banner while also on the recommended titles list. I mean, I thought front page banners were for old discover comics that are popular but apparently not! XD

After posting in front banner all their favorites, they are reposting these same titles again, just go look at their front banner, the same people again. They won't give other comics any chance. They say that the title they feature are 70% based on popularity which is a lie. It's mostly based on a fake popularity which they create and manipulate themselves. They make some title popular by boosting them over months then say they feature based on popularity! Sad the way they lie. They should just be honest and admit they pick based on their personal taste instead of giving us the "popularity" "frequent updates" and "good storytelling" Bullsh*t. These things don't matter to them at all.

Lmao you're right! I just saw 'Mage & Demon Queen' on the front banner and i swear to god i saw that just last month XD obviously it's good for the artist but it made me feel sad too somehow :)))

They just changed the recommended, and noticed how they left one title on there still? also another title that was on there is again in the daily round up now? apparently after 3 months in recommended didn't get the high popularity webtoon desired of them so now webtoon's gonna put them somewhere else or leave them on there until they reach the high spot they planned for them. These two are the ones they want to top everyone else and are trying to cheat them to the top. No offense to any of these artist it's not their fault but it's a fact that they are not the real popularity. If anyone was put that much in recommended and round up for months they would all reach top easily, and i mean anyone. All these is fake, their popularity, their ranking. sad.

Yess i noticed that! Many of them are still the same. Also let me just mention that the front page discover comics before the current ones were put there for 2-3 days instead of 24hrs lmao... and of course one of em quickly reached the 2nd spot on weekly hot.

I wonder why, why they want this title to be the top SO BAD? The artist already has 2 featured comics, does good in his patreon... why are they forcing so much for it to get more than 100k subs? Who knows how LINE staff thinks... if was for profit, I would prefer to promote Sub Zero, that is way more profitable right now.

They like that comic so they want to cheat it to the top. They may also want to feature it soon but it's not popular enough. In their section about how to be feature they say the comic they chose to feature are 70% based on popularity. So they gotta make that comic reach a high popularity so that when it gets feature they can say their choice is based on popularity. but we all know it's fake popularity

About sub Zero, I've observed that comic, I must say it has a great story and art but let's be honest, for month it couldn't get in the top until the day Webtoon put them in recommended and round up for many months. No offense to the author but I gotta stay with the facts here. Since that it has risen to the top. it got to top the same way all of them are on top, by webtoon placing them there of course.This was also done with featured title such as "let's play" and "fluffy boyfriend"or "cold blooded king", they receive the same wonderful treatment of webtoon., rose above everyone then were featured. For sure we know what is next. bunch of the favorites will be featured soon. I also predicted "olympus Lore" and "the devil is handsome man" would be featured and it was. Not surprising when we seen how much they got promoted by webtoon. They're easy to predict.

It's easy to know which comics are the ones they like and which comics are the ones they hate. Easy to guess the ones they hate are the ones who never appeared once in recommended, daily round up, fresh pick and front banner and never will. yes there r so many comics that they can't all appear, i understand but the same titles appeared already 3-4 time. Like you i also noticed the length they appear on front banner. It's based on their love of it, 3 days if they are 100% in love, just 1 day if they're 50% in love with it... The other day, 2 random comics were on for a day and their turn was wasted as the link didn't work on phones but only worked on computers. But that malfunction never happens to their top favorite ones strangely.

I'm starting to think they are fixing views. We got these results yesterday. I check our stats every day at the same time. When it ticked over this was what we got.

This seemed suss to me considering we had more than 300+ views that day and of that we average at least 50 from the US so this is VERY unusual.

We posted this on Twitter, tagging Webtoons in the tweet. Not long after we suddenly had a change in stats.

Might be an idea to keep an eye on your daily views because I think there is something weird happening here.

Keep in mind, webtoon updates their stats at 12 am EST every day, and it usually takes 20-30 minutes for the stats to actually process and show you. If you get 0 views, it's because the site is still updating.

29 US views out of 300 does seem oddly low though not entirely impossible

@Samuraiflame Very true. We usually wait a time after the update time to be sure but maybe it was super laggy yesterday. It just seemed odd to us that when it ticked over it registered 0 (we had 64 the day before) then it updated later but oh well. I'll put my tin foil hat away

The time is not the same as before for me too, it's normal, usually i get 0 at 12.00 then the total of yesterday pv comes out at 12.25... and now it's 12.10

And you know, when the tier changes, your daily pv changes too. It's the same as my friends. Usually i'll get 120% total of subs for pv when i update. And in january, i only get 90% or less of my total subs.
Ex : before january my subs 20k, my daily pv when i update is 25k
But now my subs 30k, my daily pv when i update is 22k
They cut your pv and make you get less subs if you don't update for more than a week

I also believe webtoon is cheating by cutting down PVs. Not only that but LIKES and subs too. I noticed a few comics where after updating the number of subs goes down only. and it goes down by the hundreds. I'm sure webtoon's manipulating these too. Also number of likes for the very top comic is too much for its number of subs. In feature they have 700,000 subs and their likes is 18,000, but in discover that comic has only 280,000 subs and its likes is already 18,000 to 20,000. Very fishy. I'm sure webtoon is adding a whole bunch of likes to make that comic look like the big unbeatable giant when for month it couldn't even get anywhere near the tops on its own.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what any of you are talking about. I have been on both sites for a year (with fairly inconsistent updates tbh), and I have way more subs on Webtoon than here. Granted, I am not even close to popular, but 1.1k subs vs 170 is a big difference. I just started updating consistently (weekly) again, and on Webtoon, I've been getting 150-ish new subs per week. Last week, that number when down to 100-ish new subs.

There can be many reasons for this. After hanging out in the recent comics feed for a few weeks, my comic's icon became familiar to the regular visitors browsing the site, so it lost some of its novelty. (Another factor to take into account is that last week when I updated, it was Valentine's Day, and more people were updating their comics with "Happy Valentine's Day" messages, so my comic got buried faster.) There are probably other factors as well that I'm not sure about.

Anyway, I don't know why everybody thinks that the Webtoon staff is out to get them. For a while, I was convinced that all comics get a decent following on Webtoon, but I started to notice that's not the case. Just like how some comics just never find their audience on Tapas (cough cough me), some don't find it on Webtoon.

With Staff Picks, Daily Snacks, and Spotlight on Tapas, you all are really going to complain about Webtoon's bias? Every company has some bias, because it is run by human beings. Why is it so wrong for the staff to favor certain comics? If they like it for whatever reason, why shouldn't they give it a boost?
