Hello people, I write Redox14. Recently, I had one of my episodes on the daily snack thing, and have gained a large amount of subs - this, I am really, really grateful for! However, as some other people have experienced, people are starting to unsub in bulk as well (they bookmarked it and later dropped it, lost interest, etc). This is totally understandable! Now my question is how long this unsubbing spree lasts?

I know that I probably shouldn't be too focused on this number, but it's becoming a little hard to ignore when every time I update in the past two weeks my count only gets lower (;u;)

It's hard to say. I've been getting constant subs for almost 9 months now and they still increasing as opposed to decreasing.

And yes, numbers shouldn't matter, but they do. It's a barometer of how good a job you're doing.

Yeah, I guess that I should just give it some more time to balance out. I just was becoming a little discouraged. Thanks for taking the time to reply @joannekwan and @carloswebcomic (^ ^)

What I would say (and I'm making sure to do this myself in case it ever happens) is to give the new readers a reason to stay.
For a lot of long-form stories, it might be better to have your hook a bit earlier, to grab your audience.
That way, when you get to the quiet moments your readers can anticipate what might come next.

As for gag-a-day, just gotta keep up the quality of gags and art. That's what I'm going for at least.
