How many characters are in your comic or that you plan to have in your comic

That is how I plan to handle all my characters, slowly introducing them. Also I don't want to overwhelm my readers, I know personally I hate when a story pumps out characters all in one go. (I am looking at you shounen Mangas! Lol 😂 )

Lol I haven't seen any shonen manga that just overwhelm readers with characters, you need to give shonen mangakas more credit

I guess around 15-20.. The main characters only 3 in Who's Mr.President? but in Kyun and Hana the main characters are 4.
My web comics are focusing on school's clubs activities, so there'll be a lot of characters from various clubs >v<

WOW! Honestly lucky you, I know a person who has over 1000+ established characters for their comic, and that's all the characters left unrevealed. But I too understand the plight of having so many characters as I have 3+ comics each with over 50+ characters to draw and develop. I fell your pain, and I'm here with you. I hope you manage to make it work though!

Oh wow 100 characters, I have 50+ characters In my comic so far. probably half of them are going to be killed off (minor characters that provokes the MC or starts the story arc)
Idk how long it will take me to finish my comic PSYCHOSIS. I only have 7 chapters drawn with 31 chapters written and that's not even near the half way mark XD
I would have more pages done if it wasn't for my job.

For Cosmic Fish, the first arc is only going to focus on about 10 characters more or less, although there's 16-17 in total.

But the story has a total of about 32 if I remember right.

100 is impressive though! I have a comic that has about 60 planned but I've cut it down or mixed characters into one to try and avoid quantity > quality like Bleach or Homestuck ended up having. Not that it's always the case, it's just playing character creation hard mode imo, and rather focus on the story. If done well, then great job!

Although Quality > Quantity, I can't help myself I just love making characters.
So far I've only introduced 5, have official designs for about 12, and throughout the course of a (hopefully) decades long 12 act series I plan on having well over 100+ characters.
Not to mention I have this "small world" mentality were any character I introduce even if they first appear as a background character will come back and have a significant role to play.

i got 2 main characters and then 2 lesser characters then like 6 lesser lesser characters AND THEN 4-ish backround characters who show up a lot. plus 5 robot-of-the-week type characters. but i mostly just pay attention to my top 4

I just had to count it out for this thread haha--apparently Nocturne will have about 17 characters not including like, really minute bg characters or characters who show up only for a page or two. Five of those are the immediate main characters-- Lexi, Vespyr, Brandi and the two main antagonists, while the rest are support characters who will show up as the chapters go by.

The way Nocturne is structured is that each chapter is kind of like a mini-story in it's own right, in that each chapter focuses on a set of characters and has a problem and a resolution to come to within the chapter, all while contributing to the overall narrative of the murder mystery. Because of this, not every single one of the 17 characters is always relevant, so I feel like the number doesn't actually feel as large as it is to me haha!

My little production currently has 4 main characters, plus at least 4 side characters. I plan to introduce at 8 more, including 4 villains, plus loads and loads of historical figure cameos and expies.
