I introduced so many early on so I could have a time skip and set comedic side stories in that month long gap
I know that sounds like a lot (because it is), but it was like a challenge to myself to have such a large cast and make them all feel developed.
I've even used an Excel sheet to calculate my arcs mathematically.
Honestly taking any out at this point would hurt the story I have planned.
Smart move. I have a similar thing in my Excel, listing when every character first appears and in which episode, on what date and what they contribute/change in the overall plot/arcs. Would have no clue going forward without that spreadsheet. Also helps me arrange events in a logical order without introducing too many characters, or too few. Also gives me something to look forward to during slow/boring drawing periods.
