This will prob help you give some measurement, hopefully.
when there was that Webtoon contest last year, they gave different panel requirement for each genre. If I recall correctly:
- Romance/horror/sci-fi should at least have 40 panels
- Comedy 20 panels
- Slice of life 12 panels. (but really a 4-koma would be fine too)
I mean, ultimately it depends on your genre and what readers are used to reading on a platform. On Webtoon, people are used to reading long updates so some of them would likely complain when they see short ones, whereas Tapastic readers are okay with it.
I write a romance/slice of life story and how many panels there are per update are not consistent. It could be 20-25 some chaps and then 70 panels for the other ones, depending one the main story idea per chapter I needa learn to stop story in the middle sometimes and make sure I don't overwork myself
Anyway, hope that helps lmao. My advice is: don't overwork yourself just to satisfy your readers. Like it has been mentioned before, you can't satisfy everyone.
