How much reendering it's usually enough?

I know it depends on each case but I wanna know what to do, so I can improve the quality of my future illustrations.

This is the artwork who got me in the dilemma as I strated reendering and ading details.

This is the original by Saturnino Herran

(Also: I think I got the poses wrong aaaaaaaaaaa)

That's a really tough question lol. I usually tend to just go until it feels like, it looks like what I envisioned. When it comes to comics though, I've been trying to kind of stream line my process and not OVER render, which I feel can make things look worse. In short, I have no idea sorry lol.

P.s: I think you got the poses right so far! It's looking really nice.

My patience level is really low so... I typically don't render that much lol. It's to the point where my standalone illustrations don't look that much better than my comic work because I just... don't feel like sitting down and rendering out many more details >_>;;; it's something that I kinda want to work on tbh. I think the main difference between when I want to render something out a little more nicely and my comic is the amount of shading and lighing layers tbh. In my comics I'll only do a single layer/color of multiply shading and 1 layer of lighting.

In an illustration I usually will lay down 2 or 3 different colors/layers of shading and like blend them out a little bit too.
