How much does ad rev earn you?

so, the opportunity for ad revenue has recently opened up for me and i was wondering whether it's worth it. from what i've seen so far, the results are mixed depending on activity and how well your comic's doing. i'm already setting up things on the side just in case performance is really poor, but i want to hear from some people who actually have ad revenue on their stories.

So yeah, don't expect to earn anything life-changing LOL. But it's nice to accumulate to treat yourself after a while. Like, I'd rather have this $4 from doing nothing except posting my work as I usually would than not get anything.

yeah, i didn't think it would be much, but something is better than nothing, i guess you just have to be kind of patient and wait for it to pile up a bit over time

You don't get revenue from people seeing the ad (ad impression), you get it from people clicking the ad. I really wish it was the other way around.

yikes, the only time i can really imagine someone clicking an ad is either by pure accident or the rare occasion when it actually piques their interest.

i forget how it was fully detailed but the conversion for ad rev has always been pretty small but has gotten a lot smaller over the years. like joanne's screenshot shows you can have thousands of ad impressions but only really get chump change in return

it's mostly better to try and bank on ink donations or tip jars like ko-fi or buymeacoffee :\

This month I've earned $0.02. My overall ad revenue from little under two years is $0.67.
The ad revenue on Tapas is abysmal.

I just got mine turned back on. But yeah this is what I have gotten for revenue this month. I had it turned back on last week. Mine broke a year ago and it took them a year to fix it. But before that I had earned 9 bucks in a year... so like rolling in the doe.

Weirdly, there are more views on my comic this month than in January, but there are less ad impressions.

For reference: this achieved not by me having numbers of subscribers in tens of thousands, but by doing a lot of episodes. 7 for one comic and 10 for another. Every 1-2 days I uploaded something...
