How much pocket change do you make from Tapas monthly? $0.01? $1?

QUESTION FOR STAFF: How many views monthly do you need to at least make $25 from Tapas?
Tapas should really do an article on this? Or have they already done it?

It would help paint a picture for people who have webcomics on webtoons and may want to publish on here as well.

It's my first month with ad revenue an I've got 0.12$ so far.

I've had it for some months and I've only earned 0.14 $
I'd you shouldn't rely on it, even the big people don't seem to get that much from it

Yeah, I say it's better to have another source to provide income (like a ko-fi or a paetron). Whether it's Tapas or Webtoons -- making money through ads isn't entirely easy, so you shouldn't really rely on it.

A lot of people who make money on the ads also do commissions, payment tiers, and etc.

Ad rev is a nice thought, but if you want to make money off Tapas you have to rely on the tipping system.

I've made $1.17 in so rev this month, just over $7 in my account's life (a year and a couple months). On the other hand I've made over $60 in tips, though the monthly amount varies greatly.

I make like $4-$5 or something a day from ads after tapas takes their cut? Like with all other income sources, you need to establish yourself well before it becomes much to talk about.

I would suggest building up multiple income sources to create a safety net, if you intend to do this professionally. Even if you make a good amount of money from source x, source x could end someday and then you need source y and source z to carry you while you find something to replace source x.

I'm glad you brought the multiple income thing.

That's why I'm asking that way I know what to expect from Tapas. I have a full-time job but I want to create multiple sources of income and I already have a list, now I'm just investigating the more unknown/uncertain/unlikely options like webcomics (Webtoons/Tapas) was on that list.

Started enabling ads like a week ago? maybe less time. i guess.

I made.....

$0.01

(makes it rain.........but pick it up because that cent is the only cent i have in Tapas)

4,08 dollars posting my comic consistently for 5 months, 21 episodes, and 30k+ views

I'm too lazy to count, but I think 3 dollars are from tips

Yikes, harsh question. Honestly— not enough.
About $50 here.

edit: its now like 2 years later n im happy to say ive gotten like over $1k on webtoons probably, tapas isnt rly where the money's at it seems LOL

Ready to be amazed?? I made $19.64 in 2 years!
So I haven't been able to withdraw money not even once so far...
I know I know... Don't be too jalous :smile_cat:

I don't have monetization on my series so I can't say anything about that but I started to wonder how many readers use ad block on this site. Because I'm pretty sure that'd affect the revenue since people don't see ads. Because that is a problem in for example YouTube were ad block cuts so much off of the ad revenue.
Maybe it'd be worth informing your readers that you have entered the ad revenue program and it'd be cool if they turned off adblock or at least whitelisted Tapas?

to be honest, like 99% of the cash you’re gonna make is gonna be tips. ad rev (unless you’re like.. huge) is fairly useless

I make $1- $3 per month. The main reason I haven't taken any money out since 2015 is that idk when I'll be able to make enough to take it out again. Tips are good but they're not consistent.
Ad revenue was so much better back in 2015-2016, I used to get $10-$15 per month, it's gotten so low these days.

For Tapas Ad rev just turn it on and leave it alone and maybe you'll make an ok amount in a few years.

I've been on here for a year, but I've finally accumulated a mass of $1.11 so far. :stuck_out_tongue:

ive been here since they started the ad revenue program and ive made

it started in may 2015 :stuck_out_tongue:

in the beginning i made at least 25 dollars a month with like 25k views now i make like 10-20 dollars with 300k views ;A; but its going up a bit again

FACTS!

There are some sites like Hulu that kinda make you turn off adBlock. I think Tapas should do that as well, or maybe request that readers white-list their website!

I think that’d probably turn away people to webtoons since it can be prettt obnoxious
