I've been on this site a long time and hosted a crappy comic way back when ad revenue was easier to get. I made 2 bucks in 6 months. now 5 years later, after a year and a half of a comic im really proud of i only made another 6 dollars, mostly from ink. if you count just ad revenue it's probably less than 50 cents
I have made zero $$$ of any kind. I am an $$$-less chap.
0... but what counts is the friends you make along the way... right....?
when can you enable ink tipping?
Its enabled after 250 subs for comics and a lower threshold for novels, I think. Apparently you can also get it enabled around inksgiving.
good to know, thank you! ^^
Lower for novels? Why doesn't my tapas say that to me? It's also 250 for novels cries a little
Oh dear, maybe I was mistaken. Now I'm trying to see where I got that idea hahaha
that's okay, it's only fair Maybe it was in the past? Might be possible
Of course, out of that I received less than half between Tapas and Paypal fees
It has been about a year since I unlocked support, I think .
Been with Tapas since January 2016 and got:
minus fees/Tapas cuts...prolly less than half.
No, it's about 70%. Just calculated my own (I keep an excel file tracking earnings for tax purposes). Creators get about 70% of the total revenue displayed. And the other roughly 30% went/goes to Tapas and various fees, which was what they stated a while back.
Most of this isn't ad revenue, as you'd guess for a comic under 1k subs. I just have some very generous supporters.
2 years, 3 ongoing series (2 mature, so not showing up on apps ;p), 3.7k subs between them
Unlocked support a month ago
$0.28 from ad revenu, I don't have ink support unlocked yet!
87 cents. Omw to be rich. XD
What's tips? Is it ink donation? I mean its not given as tips in the q and a
@Hydra_Gairum yes, ink is tips, it's Tapas currency people can give you (or you can give) and you can withdraw as $ to your PayPal later.
