How often do you update your work?

Hi, I recently posted my novel on tapas and I'm a bit unsure about how frequently I should update it. Currently I'm updating it once a week but I feel like that might be too slow. I'm thinking of changing the updates to twice a week but I don't know if I can keep it up in the long run. So I'm just wondering how often do you guys update you novel/comic, also which update rate would be better once or twice a week?

Personally, i do the comic once a week. That way i can keep myself to a schedule with drawing. Drawing at least one set of panels a day, just to get to seven or more sets of panels so the updates are long, but not too long. Everything else pretty much will just update whenever I get something of it done (so the human eyed animals, tales of mountainhome (though that one might end up being redone as an actual comic not just the slides like i've done)

I mean, you could do a twice a week update, and then when you get a good enough following go down to once a week?? i think it really just depends how you think can do with it.

I update my novel once a week because I’m a slow poke and that is the rate I can keep up with. But if you want more visibility then twice or three times a week update can be a good thing. I wouldn’t advice it though if you can’t keep going with that rate, consistency is the key

More updates mean a higher chance of exposure. As long as you're okay with it, I'd say that twice weekly would be fine, if you're confident that you can continue to produce your work at that pace without being affected by burnout or your work losing its quality. If not, once a week is a good schedule to keep to as well.

As for me, my update schedule is entirely unpredictable. Lately, I've been trying to update twice a week (on random days) in batches of three comic pages, but we'll see how that goes. I do try to update at least once a week at least if I can't manage two updates, though.

While I update everyday and it surely brings in more exposure. I will say that in the longer run, updating once or twice a week will be much better.

Not only does it give you more time to make each chapter much better than what it would be. Updates with a gap between them give your viewers more time to talk and think about your story and also builds anticipation, which I believe is very important for bigger works!

At the end of the day, though. You should write with what you are the most comfortable with and give your best with each update!

Well, I originally draw for a webcomic, I'm not the author nor a writer...
At first we updated every 2 weeks but I also take commissions and other works so after debating with myself I proposed the Author to update on the 1st of every month (Chapters of 40 panels each)

I know that updating every week, or every two weeks is better for exposure and such. But I do believe having the proper time to check out stuff, correct other things or even have a few days in case an emergency occurs and you have to delay your work.

I'm doing a weekly novel as well, but I'm also doing extra things like making a soundtrack and commissioning small comic strips for it to spice things up.

I prefer weekly since I can use my buffer to do extra things like this, along with promotion!

I update one comic three times a week and other one two times a week, but you should probably not go into such insanity.

Weekly seems to be an alright frequency of updates to me.
